Morrowind forced intro.

How do you role play your new characters being on a fancy boat in a flashy silk shirt and headed to Vvardinfell? It just seems silly that any new character is headed there no matter what their back story is.

The original was so much better in my opinion and very open ended role playing wise. Yes I know that you can still do it later, but that's not the point.

I'm just curious what head canon you all use to get around this.

I hate the new start, travel straight to Devons watch. Then start my story from there. I just see it as admin.

Arguably you are on a boat as you start, and then the story picks up about you being dragged out the water on your started island right? Tenuous link for the RP folk but its something

I just like that with the original you could've been captured anywhere doing anything. /shrug

I made an Orsimer DK alt. Very barbaric and by no means a city Orc, but there he is in a fancy silk shirt on a nice boat in Morrowind of all places. Just rubbed me the wrong way from the character's perspective. It intro itself was okay on it's own.

the incongruous MORROWIND start uncomfortably inserted sucks... Nice to know he we got sacrificed, but if you skip the meet, people in quests will still say you're soulless BEFORE you've even been sacrificed.

Agree. I liked the original more. I've created 5 of my chars after Morrowind and travelled straight back to the original zones.

Morrowind is not very beginner friendly. You need to walk/travel way too much there for quests/locations.

I bail out of MW as soon as possible (via porting to my house) then straight to my alliance questline since I prefer the original start. Creating different starts is fine but, for Mara's sake, please let us have the options that should go with having more than one start.

We should be able to chose from the original start or the MW start. This would play nicely into any other new chapter alternative starts Zen comes up with.

More to the question though, as with all TES games, I play through the tutorial then pretend it didn't happen and go my own way.

The vvardenfell intro gives an extra skillpoints, I simply go straight to mainland and pretend it never happened similar to how I rp I am not a db assassin and other things as I'm a completionist

I'm curious if the Summerset introduction will somehow shove aside the Morrowind Intro. I'm hoping we can start out in coldharbor by our choice this time.

They really need to go back to giving us a choice as to which intro we want to do.

Yeah, an intro choice would be perfect and could incorporate existing and future DLC. The flexibility would be great from the role playing perspective.

I always skip the tutorial now. My current RP character grew up in Vvardenfell and, long story short, is venturing out into the wider world of Tamriel. He leaves Vvardenfell via Seyda Neen (hence my being there on a ship) and travels to Glenumbra where his mother grew up. Then he gets bonked on the head and wakes up in Coldharbour.

I'm curious to see if a new tutorial will come with Summerset.

WE likely will, as there is a new tutorial as WhiteCoatSyndrome pointed out to me. From the gameplay video I saw, Summerset does not look very beginner-friendly either. I wish they would let us choose where to start.
