Maybe by sending a ticket?

Alliance only matters in PvP now. My character was started when everything was split into zones. Now we have One Tamriel it's irrelevant for me from a PvE standpoint who I join. If there's any way at all for me to change I'd very much appreciate it.

Delete your character and reroll in your preferred Alliance. ;)

Seriously, though, there is no way to do that yet.

Yeah, I have done that. It just annoys me as I've got quite a few achievements from PvP and levelled up on my main. My noobie has to start from square one :disappointed:

I figured there wouldn't be but wanted to double check. You never know, eh?

I think they should change the way you chose your alliance. At the end of every campaign you choose what alliance you want to fight for. Being they opened up the whole world it makes sense your characters opinions of the war would change.

On the surface it would be a easy fix to offer an alliance change.

Except for how they designed the Main Story Quest line. The progress is marked for the faction you belong to as evidenced buy Caldwel's quests after completing the main.

They would have to make changes to the main to accommodate and I don't think they are willing to do so. Even though I think they do need to recode and revamp the Main Quest line to accommodate the new starts available in Morrowind and now coming up Summerset.

You can change campaigns as much as you like, however, at the end of each campaign ... and you can also use the guest campaign.

The maps are pretty fluid. There is something for everyone without having to change Alliance.

Now that would be an easy change to make. Still have the factions at creation as the base game requires for character creation. If you sign up to enter a different faction in PvP then you have a marking that you are mercenary, fighting for a different faction.

The idea is to allow for grouping with new friends or guild mates.

Right from the start I knew I wanted to level up and play one from each faction.
And that was because of pvp.

Came from wow where I also leveled in each faction for the pvp.

I think this is incorrect. The main story quest line is the one that is accessed through the Harborage. That seems to be the same for all alliances. I do admit that I have only completed it for the Pact.

There is also a main quest for each faction. That is accessible from the start since One Tamriel. I have run several AD characters through the Bleakrock quest line, but that is as far as I have taken them.

Silver and Gold now only seem to be required for the achievements and rewards.

The any race, any alliance upgrade is the only thing I can see as an obstacle to an alliance change system. Personally, I think ZOS could sell way more alliance change tokens than upgrades only usable for creating new characters. Not that I have a degree in marketing, but I would eventually buy two or three per character just so I could find all wayshrines.

Unless it changed recently, you can only use your own factions Harborage. Behind the scenes, cadwells silver and gold differ based on alliance. Many achievements code and such have to change as well

Suggestion..when the next double xp event comes round start up one from each faction you don't have.
Then you'll have one from each faction and can play as you please.

    Currently no.

Alliance change tokens have been suggested before. There are some pretty big downsides to them, but they would be ok if done correctly with the proper restrictions to avoid alliance hopping.

You can have up to 15 characters per server, that's 5 per alliance with at least 1 of each class. If you're on PC that gives you a possible total of 30 characters with 15 on NA and 15 on EU. You will have to buy the other 7 additional slots if you do on PC to have both sides.

The last info I heard is that they are still "considering" alliance change options, that was over a year ago IIRC.

And I mentioned this before, I for one wouldn't mind allaince change to come someday...
    ...IF done -right-!

And by that I mean not a mere token to pup people over to a different alliance, but... a whole ("guild-sized") DLC with a "cloak and dagger" theme, depicting tamriel-tastic spies, traitors, agents and dastardly deals made in the dark of night (maybe also some daedric involvement - this kind of thing -would- be right up Boethiahs alley)...
It might involve travels all over Tamriel, revisiting well known places (maybe reusing one-time storyline maps with new enemies and quest objectives) and possibly even some new small map, a neutral city where spies from every alliance in tamriel meet to spy hard (think cold-war era vienna, or berlin, or something like that... james bond movie stuff! Maybe... a post-mainstory Isle of Stirk? Or some other city-state that has not joined any of the alliances...) with a "alliance loyalty called in question" plot, where your characters get to make a -BIG- choice:
    - Do they stay loyal to their alliance and find out who framed them, hunting down the real culprit to prove their loyalty...
    OR
    - Do they take the opportunity to defect to greener pastures elsewhere?
With the rest of the questline being different depending on the choice made, one way you find out the truth, secure evidence of your innocence, and hunt down the real traitors, and the other way you court your desired alliance, grab some secrets to trade for your asylum along the way, and escape the agents sent to bring you in...
...bonus points for using familiar faces. I mean, I have a character or two who would love to slam a porticullis into Razun-dars face while they hop on a boat bound for morrowind with Naryu... ;)

And there could be nifty titles for this too. Like "[original faction] Loyalist" and "[original faction] Defector", depending on which way each character chooses...

Obviously this would be a "one-time thing", so we wouldn't have serial defectors in Tamriel...

And on the PvP front... there could be drawbacks to "going traitor", like reduced AP gains for a while in your new alliance, or even requiring people to re-earn their current alliance rank before they get to advance any further; and obviously taking down a "defector" would be worth more to their erstwhile comrades; there even could be a daily "Hunt Traitor" quest and a visual clue as to who is such in cyrodil while that quest was active, you know, because...

You also only get to use the Mages and Fighters Guilds NPCs in your own faction areas. You can enter the guilds in the other faction areas but you won't encounter the quest-giving NPCs.

I wouldn't want tokens. A one-time change after a patch would be nice. So much has changed in the game that I think it would be fair to offer us the choice to change over

Alliance change please ZoS. Multi-alliance PvP guilds are a sequitur. Or add 3 more guild slots or so. Even then I would prefer to be able to swap all my characters to the same alliance since I couldn't when I created them.
