Patch v3.3.9: Logging out or quitting the game now takes much longer

Switching characters is now significantly slower since the patch update this week (March 21).
I can't believe this was an intentional change and it does not appear to be associated with any specific Addon I am using (I checked).
Before reporting this as a BUG I contacted many players in my main guild for comments to be sure it was not just me
All those I contacted agree the logout is now slower.
Some guild members who stay mainly on 1 character for the game did not see much issue but the others who like me are regularly switching between characters then this is a significant increase in waiting time while you just watch the screen
