CoD Mail

Would you consider someone spamming unsolicited CoD Mail to others in game to be a violation of the ToS in any way. I opened one yesterday from someone who wanted me to buy lockpicks for 1000 gold and it occurred to me that a new player might just accept without realizing what they did. I find the practice pathetic but wasn't sure if it reaches the level of warranting a report and wanted opinions.

edit: missed a word

Report them and move on. Sending that to one person probably isn’t spam but may be worth Zos looking at it.

It wasn't just me, I knew someone else in the zone and they got it as well.

Or, consider that someone asked for Lock picks, said they would buy, the person got them out, thought you were the person asking and sent as requested, in error. Not everything is malicious.

While I'd cringe at the practice its not against anything.

Its legitimate....no different than ppl spamming WTS, WTB, LFG, LF Guild, Will Pay for x, Need X for Undaunted, etc.......

Again, its not what I'd do or what I want to see or experience but the game design allows it.

You really believe someone asked to spend 1000 gold for a stack of picks and the message was returned to several of the wrong people CoD? If it wasn't lockpicks I almost would consider the possibility but, no, not with the only item worth less than used toilet paper. :|

But I still appreciate the input. Thanks.

Your probably right, that's why I didn't report it. I just think the CoD attachment ticked me off, when I first started I might of just taken it not knowing any better. In the other ES games buying picks was common at lower levels so others might think you need to here as well.

A stack of lock picks, 1K Gold is nothing, if you were a full time thief and pop every lock you see, you burn through them quickly. If I were low / out I would buy a stack for 1k. Perhaps it is a scam, I was just looking at it the other way. Also OP said they received a CoD, I didn't realize it was multiple pieces of mail.

I should have mentioned others got it as well in the original post, my bad. I agree a low level running chests and doors could burn a lot of picks but I'm sure that wasn't the case here. Thanks for the response and update.

Just a new (or old) scam. Send some junk with CoD to a number of random people, and see how many are just clicking without looking.
