Will there be more chapters after Summerset?

With this concluding the Daedric threat story arc, will this be the end of bigger Story based DLC or will they release stand alone story expansions or maybe start a new ongoing arc?

Just curious if we have heard anything from the devs on this

I think this is of the Triad (Nocturnal, Clavicus Vile, Mephala) thread of the story.

Plenty more Daedric Princes waiting in the wings.

Given the number of Daederic Princes left and then you could start on the minor daedra or even Aedra for new stories, so probably not.

Pretty sure this is ZOS' business model going forwards.

Whilst this story will end they'll write new ones.

I actually asked on twitter if this was the end of the triad or was it the end of the Daedric War storyline, got this reply from the senior content designer:



Just this gif.

I don't think it's the end yet. They could stretch out a war between the Daedric Princes for years.

Chapters are part of their business plan now so I expect there will be at least 1 "chapter" per year going forward. Chapters may take different approaches from storyline to new classes etc.

Well, at least we know who their favorites are. 1st chapter is for Dark Elves and the 2nd for High Elves, when do we get chapters for Human and Beast races or my favorite mix race Bretons?

Although if you count content before chapters you got 3 for Imperials (Cyrodiil) Imperial City, Dark Brotherhood, Theives Guild and one for Beast Races, Wrothgar.

Or you could look at it like you've got a chapter for Ebonheart Pact and Aldmeri Dominion and they still have room to expand, it looks like Daggerfall Covenant is already full with no room to expand, unless you counted Wrothgar but where else could they go?

Even if they had gone through all the Daedric Princes there's no reason for that to be the end of Chapters. They could do one with a new type of enemy. Or given that daedra cannot be permanently killed and creativity and learning from past mistakes has never been their strong point they could just decide to have another go with a slightly different plan.

Could even be Molag Bal again - maybe deciding the Worm Cult did well but all-out invasion drew too much attention so he's going for a more subtle attack this time. First half of the story is us/allies trying to work out what's even going on, second half is fighting back.

There's still most of Hammerfell for DC, which if you combine all of what's left, adds up to about the size of a chapter zone. After Summerset Isles chapter, the only AD remaining territory to be accessed will be Elsweyr, and that's about the same size as Summerset (main isle) that we'll be getting now. So that could be a future chapter. The Pact still has West Skyrim which could be another Chapter, and Black Marsh, which could be another. I wonder if they've just decided to postpone Murkmire beacuse of the Chapter situation and just release all of it at once as that.

Besides that for the Pact, there's still that east morrowind territory which is strangely more land than all of Vvardenfell. Then there's Solsthiem but that's more DLC sized, and the Telvanni Isles, but that might be included in East Morrowind.

I like this chapter system because of more quality DLC's (this is DLC - not an addon) with houses and other content with same price as regular DLC. Only permanent ESO+'ers complicating about it, but hey - you're self called elite who tossing money into monitor, have a little dignity and buy it both (Chapters and ESO+), prove your unofficial status.

No, this will not be the end of the Daedra store. Molag Bal said it him self. There are far worse masters than I. The theory I have after the quest in Cold Harbor, towards the end. You help the daedra in return she helps you. This is the life of Daedra, always working the angle for the next promotion. Molag Bal is not just a name of Daedra being but a title. Once Molag was defeated he was cast out of his spot as a Daedra prince and spawned back on the planes of Oblivion, as his former, standard Daedra self and form. The next Daedra in line (what ever type of Daedra they were), took the mantel of Prince of Brutality, Molag Bal. In so doing, they take the name, the title, and the form and became the new Molag Bal.

So, there will always be a new Daedra threat on the horizon. As a new Daedra takes the mantel, they are free to pursue their individual ambitions.
