Jewelcrafting is probably the most game changing thing they've added in years.

People are looking at it just from the perspective of Craftable gear being able to be used alot easier in setups....But you're not realizing how crazy its going to get.

You can change the trait on all jewelry now via Transmutation. That means EVERY single Heavy Armor set now will be able to have its trait changed to Stamina/Magicka or one of the 6 new traits.

you're absolutely right (if dropped jewelry can in fact be transmuted)...

it's gonna make heavy armor even more prevalent and OP than it already is...

and then tons of heavy sets will get nerfed and the cycle of nerfs will continue.

Some crafted sets might get nerfed too, now that you can combine them.

Don't forget transmuting medium/light set jewelry and running 5/2 instead of 5/1/1.

Or even with weapons for 5/1/1 I guess... x)

Sounds great except the biggest nerfs came about because the powers that be didn't like what was happening in PvE.

I think the two would have to be synonymous—class and set balancing—for this to work. I’m cautiously optimistic!

ZoS wrecked it by making it an end-game player thing instead of a crafting thing, which it is and should be. 99% of players will never see a transmutation stone other than the free ones they get with new characters and that's wrong. And I'll bet they'll stuff up jewelry crafting too.

But you know, transmuting is accessible at any level given you have CWC access and the availability required amount of transmutation crystals. And crafting doesn't require transmutation as you can already choose your traits. Besides, only really meaningful items worth transmuting for would be the max level stuffs anyways.
