Suggestion: Trading post\Items wanted board

As an alternative to the endless begging for an "auction house", why not try something different and implement a Trading post\Items wanted board to allow people to request items.

Instead of having this designed for sellers (who already have zone chat and guild traders), it would allow players to be able to place a request for between 1 and 5 different items [I would suggest 1 item at a time], and for others to be able to supply these items for them (And who knows...Maybe a "daily" quest could also be supplied at a later stage).

For example, we have a player who (for some unknown reason) wants a CP160 "training" Spriggan's restoration staff. This would allow them to place a request at the trading post/wanted board, along with their offer price and a % buyers fee (deducted from their account and held until item offered or request removed). others could then see what items are wanted, and potentially decide to either request the same item, with whatever price they wish to pay for it, or sell the item to whoever has the highest offer for it (Or request a completely unrelated item). Payment would be received instantly, with the item arriving in buyers mail in the same way as items from a guild store.

This would both allow an extra potential gold sink (both through less money entering game via bottomless gold-source of vendor and the % fees applied) as well as making it easier to acquire those "unusual"/"worthless" items which rarely make it to guild stores as their value is considered too low to be worth listing. In addition, all players would then have the ability to sell items (maybe with a daily/weekly cap similar to that of fences) removing, or at least decreasing, the constant demands for an "auction house", while limiting the impact on the current guild trading system.

This isn't bad at all. It would move community around more.

Make them in underpopulated zones or cities. Then again just put it away from main areas. Also consider in house you could sell in crown store and writ guy.

Would also be happy if they had kill requests or clearing dungeons. Lock to achievement or something for such requests.

Would have to think of a way so people can't just push prices down. So maybe written requests or cost to use it?

Speaking of written quests why not a notice board? Like doing vAA at noon, or killing world bosses at 7 p.m.

    P.S

Would be nice for low levels to find gear or people to get Crafters.

My thought had been that the "npc"/board would be located in a zone's "secondary" city\town (For example, Vulkel guard in Auridon, as guild trader hub is in Skywatch), or near each guild trader except those in hubs\capitals and would be available for requests for all non-set items, and set items that are available as drops or craftable inside that zone[1], in order to keep the amount of data on the board down, and lower sync issues which would occur if players in multiple zones tried to supply an item at the same time.

This would also benefit those who play during low population times (Asia/Australia region for example), as they would be able to assist (and receive assistance with getting items) through players not online when they are.

With regards to quests, it could be as simple as the "master writ" system, where there is a request for a random item/group of items [2]. In theory it would be possible to create a new "Procurement" skill line[3], and/or have achievements[4] related to assisting others (both through the quests and through the player requests).

I don't think a "free text" board would work, due to the potentially high number of requests and so amount of data required to be transmitted (Plus, few would look at more than a handful of messages), but being purely item related, it would require smaller amounts of data (items requested and highest offered price) and could function in a similar was to guild trader (search-wise).

[1] This could potentially also allow for "Bind on Pickup" items which are trade-able within group for 2 hours from dungeon runs to be able to be also supplied to buyers via this system, but which are automatically bound to the buyer. (Although I do like the idea of this, I'm not sure whether it would be a good idea to allow this or not)

[2] For example: a training helmet, a "blue" inferno staff, a full set of medium armor at level x, some random selection of crafting mats, a certain number of recipes, a specific motif page, or even finding some items which had been stolen (similar to thieves guild quest without need to launder, but with larger selection like "2 tools, 3 books", all in specific quality)....basically anything you can get from a drop\crate

[3] Skill line would be similar to Ledgermain/Thieves guild, with passives such as 1\2\3% extra gold from selling to vendor, better quality\quantity of drops from containers (Would be worth going down line in order to lower chance of 0 gold items...), extra number of requests able to be met daily\weekly, extra "wanted item" slots available, possibly even a hireling with a random item/group of items, etc.

[4] Achievements could be along the lines of supplying x items at posts per zone/alliance/world, meeting x number of "quests" per zone/alliance/world, having x number of requested items supplied to you in each zone/alliance/world, with possible titles such as "Master Procurer" for supplying items and "Chief Beggar" for having your requests met, along with related achievement furnishings.
