I Have An Idea

I have read quite a few posts regarding the controversy regarding crown crates. Especially when it relates to the radiant apex mounts not being purchasable. So here is my idea. With the upcoming 4th anniversary of ESO's release date. Offer all radiant apex mounts (past and present) available to buy for a limited time. I believe this may alleviate some of the negativity relating to this issue, and show that the ESO Devs hear and care about their player-base.

Good idea but sadly won't happen.

"As you saw in Matt’s 2017 roadmap, we are making Cyrodiil performance evaluation and fixing a priority this year. We want to make sure that Cyrodiil is a great PvP experience for everyone. Over the last year, we’ve made some good strides towards refining server performance across all campaigns, and we will continue down that path." -Brian Wheeler

Yup cause if they did this it would be a crown gem item only priced at 800 gems if modeled after other pricing schemes.

I'm in agreement. If all players refuse to purchase crown crates, this would force ZOS's hand to remove them, but that is never going to happen. This is why I suggested a compromise. Make it a once-a-year event. Players would have access to the radiant apex mounts, and I'm sure, ZOS would make a nice profit.

If they ever make the loyalty mount available to all I’ll be pissed right off tbh

You are not entitled to the radiant apex mounts. They are rewards for taking a risk. The risk being taking a chance on what you will get in a crate. No risk, no reward. Why is this such a hard concept for people today? People need to stop being so self entitled.

Why is it such a hard concept to understand that people don't like paying for a CHANCE to get something?

Because they were purchasable in the beginning for 1,000 crown gems. It is actually absurd that they are not purchasable for crown gems. That actually encourages people to spend crowns on the crates in the first place. The crown gems actually take a while to get up to 1,000 when you are new. There are a bunch of newbies around so they see the Radiant Apex mounts and would pay a lot more for them as they are so unique.

As much as I'd like to see it, it won't happen.

Consider the subscriber loyalty rewards. ZOS has said they wouldn't rerelease those. It's because many people like exclusives, and those same people would cry foul if that shiny, rare thing they got from hard work/loyalty/lotsa crates was made available again and in a much easier manner.

ZOS isn't about to poke that wasps nest.

What if. Apex crate. 5000 crowns. Limited to one per account. Has a random guaranteed apex mount inside.

5,000 is a bit much for a mount. (Then again, $100+ is a bit much for a virtual house, but people get those anyway..)

Still far less than what some people are willing to drop into the crates to get a chance at an apex, and being a guaranteed drop would probably make it so that players who would never drop any crowns into crates due to lousy RNG might just give it a go. Only issue was if it dropped an apex the player already has. But I doubt someone has them all so it could just check for repeats and pick one not owned.

I don't know for houses I thought it was fair. Some games charge 16 dollars a month for free apartments we get. We get keep for as long we play. Not a bad deal in comparison.

    I subscribe. Why?

Because it is a set arrangement. For a set fee, I get a set amount of benefits.

I occasionally by crowns. Why? Because I use them to purchase things that I believe for me are "worth" the value they are set at.

I WILL NOT spend my hard earned money on crown crates. Why?

Because no items in there have a "set" amount and I am not guaranteed to receive the item I wish to purchase.

I understand that some people enjoy games of chance, that for many of them the fact of winning against great odds matters more than the reward itself. I don't get that feeling because I am after the item that is the reward, not the pleasure of attaining it against the odds.

While some have gone to great lengths to receive an apex mount I would have to ask did they get the apex mount they desired or were they just happy to get "an apex mount".

For me, it is about a specific item weight against the cost of obtaining that item. I cannot weigh the value of the item against the cost because there is no limit to that cost in a "lucky box" setting. (Much like Kadala in D3 never gives you what you want, however the great thing about Kadala is she doesn't charge me real money every time I try.)

If however the specific items I am after were to magicly apear for straight purchase through the corwn store I would deffinately consider opening my wallet if the specific items were marked at an apppropriate cost.
