Since last patch I've noticed that gap closers with travel animations (crit rush, invasion, etc.) have been connecting a lot less with targets running away. This is pretty apparent chasing after players with major expedition or on horses.
Other gap closers, like ambush, appear not to have this bug, possibly since there is no travel animation and you always travel to where your target is.
