No I keep the default names.

Okay to be fair, I did rename one non-combat pet the first time I realized that you could rename them, but after that I haven't bothered. I don't even remember which one it was.

Wish the names would show up somewhere.

Thanks for the suggestion. Name plates for mounts and pets in specific places sound like a really fun idea!

We'd also like to thank you all for sharing your feedback and pet names, we really love seeing all the funny, creative, and cute pet and mount names that those of you who have used the option to rename have come up with. The Striped Guar named Cloud-Jumper, Snorri the Goat, and Gary the Bear are just a few of our favorites. We hope more of you decide to share, we can't wait to see more of these.

My pets all get different names. Named my Chub Loon after Bernie Sanders. My dog is named Bucket after my dog.



All my mounts are named Woe. Problem is every time I say their name they come to a stop.

Black horse, main mount of main character - Xyldan (from "Return of a Fellow Scholar").
Bay dun horse of my imperial lady - Prince.
Kagouti of my dunmer - Sorrow (as one of two things that dunmer feels about... well, that's roleplay thing about my characters. And "Facepalm" is not so good name for kagouti).
Doom wolf - Despair.
Grey wolf - Ondjage.
White wolf pup - Helwyr.
Banekin is called Hctib Elttil, as Richard's "pet" from Looking For Group comics.
I didn't change default name of my Razak's Opus, but his owner usually calls it "hey, Thing!" or something like that.

Other mounts and pets are untouched, even those I usually take with me. I'm bad at giving names to anything, so I don't use them at all.

Cave bear cub - Ursa Bella (beautiful bear)
Dragontail goat - Myotonica (Myotonica Congenita = scare goat disorder)
Dwarven Theodolite - Gort (reference to The Day the Earth Stood Still)
Jackal & Markarth Bear-Dog - Barkspawn (#1 dog name in Dragon Age: Origins)
Kindlespirit Dragon Frog - Dov Feim (= Faded Dragon in dragon tongue)

My Sep Adder pet is named Smaug, and I kept the lizard's default name of Scurry since it's part of my common gamer tag.

I saw some people on the forums saying that the flame atronach mounts are ugly and look like melted cheese. I think they look great, but I thought it was funny so I named my flame atronach horse Fondue.

I rename only those, which I use, and I always try to be creative with the name, it should fit the beast. So far I renamed:

• Sorrel Horse — Perch (ref. to Geralt's horse Roach from The Witcher)
• Palomino Horse — Saffron
• Midnight Steed — Charcoal
• White Mane Horse — Blanchmane
• Banded Guar Charger — Corky (as a guar of the same name from TES III)

Some. I have so many now, I only rename them when I feel inspired to do so.

My first pet was the crab you get with the Imperial edition. He was renamed Captian Snappytons.

My Hammerfall camel is named Speedhump and my Camel of Ill Omen is Doomhump. I'm rather proud of those.
