Is grim focus worth it for DW/2H?

So Im trying out grim focus on my stamblade dw/2h and it seems annoying and clunky and barely ever gets an assassins will. In pve most everything is dead before I can use it. Havent tried it in pvp yet, but considering it takes so long to charge, I couldve just done a cloak+ incapacitate + surprise attack+ flying blade, and if I got rid of grim focus I could use rending slashes. In fact I could shoot many flying blades in the same time as it would take to get 1 assassins will. Not to mention how annoying it is to have to look down at the skill icons on my screen to see if assassins will is ready. I know its a good skill but If theres something else I can replace it with then I wont bother with something thats just a nuisance.
Is the minor berserk from grim focus worth the slot even if I barely ever get an assassins will?
If I just use it as a buff I can put it on my backbar and put surprise attack in its place on my front bar.

On magblades it's very crucial. I think alot of stamblades just use it for the damage buff.

First off, there's really no need to use flying blade on a DW/2H Stamblade because Surprise Attack is a fantastic spammable DPS ability. Secondly, yes I would use Relentless Focus (stamina morph of grim focus) on your front bar because it hits very hard and this recent patch made it much easier to utilize. You should always be weaving light/heavy attacks between your skills so you should get it to proc pretty easily. I've seen more people replacing their execute (such as Killer's blade) with Relentless Focus because it hits so hard.

The regen and damage buffs it gives you are worth it alone on stamblade, the proc is just an extra bonus

Can flying blade be considered as a competitive spammable? (not on NBs, for example on sorc or DK)

Its 1 skill slot that gives you 3 things: Minor Berserk, Minor Endurance and a ranged nuke that deals disease damage that costs 0 stamina to cast.

Killer's Blade hits harder than Relentless Focus. But Relentless Focus can be used at any point in your burst combo (even if the target is at 80% health for example) and on top of that it gives a massive damage buff to all your damage and it gives you a regen buff. In terms of skill slots, Relentless Focus is just a smarter choice.

Flying blade works like an execute, its also handy when someone or something is running away. And makes no sound, barely visible and is instant cast, It also has major brutality so I can put off switching to back bar to cast rally for a little bit longer. I dont use killers blade or a gap closer. With the gap closer nerf it doesnt seem worth the slot. But if the 8% berserk is worth it then it should do fine on the back bar according to the other 2 people who posted above.

In 1v1 I would definately use it, because you have enough time to set it up and line up your burst combo: heavy attack + incap + scourge proc + execute. The burst from this is unreal and hard to recover from. Make sure to have your dots rolling on the target before you make the combo.

In BG I personally don't use it on a 2h/dw build. Takes too long to setup in melee range and you usually have to switch targets often, retreat from melee range or the target dies before the proc is ready. I replace relentless focus with ambush, which I do not use in most duels. Leeching strikes is my sustain tool and you really won't miss the 8% dmg in most cases when you have a good group.

In (solo) open world you are better of running 2h/bow imo. A lot more mobile and better suited to kiting. In that setup I would use relentless focus, because it is easier and faster to set it up with a bow.

My latest creation is an Orc stamblade wearing heavy shacklebreaker and impregnable jewelleryt and rings. He's very tanky condisering he doesn't have a shield and can go toe to toe for a good while, with most builds. Its easy to get the Grim Focus proc up and of course, as everyone has already said,. it worth having just for the extra buffs it gives. On my medium armour melee builds I don't really worry about it proccing, but that is because I'm relying on a big fat smack from stealth - no time to stand there and light attacking lol :)

How can you use relentless focus is in a burst combo? Assassins will hardly ever shows up.
Ialternate between skill and light attack. But sometime I swear I mustve done 8 to 10 light attacks and it doesnt show up. Im on PS4, maybe its bugged.
And sometimes when I notice it ready it then disappears if I was already using another attack at the time.
And I dont have a target dummy so I dont even know if im AC correctly, Im not sure what the pace is.
And I didnt know the precurser quest was for a target dummy so I had abandonded quest when my quest log was full. Now I cant get the quest again. Its gone.
Theres no target dummy at ps4 crown store and I cant find it at the guild traders either.
