Arctic Wind and Morphs. How good is it?

Was thinking off making a MAG Warden a mostly Offensive Tank and Off-Healer with 2 Frost Staves (one for casual RP and one for Dungeons) and I was thinking of using the Arctic Wind with the Arctic Blast Morph, but I wonder how good it is and how much Health do I need to make it work effectively?

Even if you had 60k health it just wouldnt deal that much damage.

Arctic blast is used to apply chilled to enemies around you more easily when tanking, that's about it.

    The skill is utter crap...

What wardens need is another single (or multiple) target ice dot that makes them somewhat comparable to other classes.

I'd suggest changing Arctic Blast into something unique and usable:

    The current skill is
Envelop yourself in winter winds, healing for 10% of Max Health instantly and an additional 2% Health every 2 seconds over 10 seconds. Enemies in the area will take $1 Frost Damage every 2 seconds over 10 seconds.

With $1 being 4% of your maximum health.

I'd suggest changing this ability to scale with your maximum resource. And then I'd like it to be changed to function like this:

Envelop the target in freezing winds, dealing $1 damage and an additional $2 damage every two seconds to the primary target and $3 every two seconds to nearby enemies and healing you for the damage done to the primary target. Any enemy hit three times is immobilised for 4 seconds.

$1 should be 10% of your maximum resource, may it be stamina, magicka or health.
$2 should be 6% (instead of 4%) of your maximum resource.
$3 should be 4% of your maximum resource.

So with 40000 magicka the Base damage per cast (and the ability is freaking expensive) would amount to 13600 (4000+4*2400) per cast over 10 seconds to the main target and 10400 (4000+4*1600) to all other targets in the area. This is prior to CP etc. In PvP it wouldn't be as much of an issue as you can't spam it, it is cleansable and you'd need to stack a lot of resources to make it too strong, sacrificing a whole lot in other regions.

Would be a very unique ability that is not yet in the game.

As a heal it's lacking. I built a warden tank that simulated my dk tank with similar functioning skills.

Arctic wind was the simulation of dragonblood. It does not heal anywhere near enough to make it any good.
I use the morph that will heal an ally, and that does actually provide a nice burst heal when the healer is busy, but other than that it doesn't help me as the tank much at all.

All the other self heal skills scale off stats and this just makes warden tanks terrible at surviving without receiving outside heals.

That being said, due to the ice shield skill, it does very well on fights where the boss spams projectiles. You essentially take no damage at all, the shield pays for itself with the magic return built in too.

I would use shimmering shield over crystallized slab, the ultimate gain is far more valuable than the returned damage.

Also if you're wanting to tank, it's a better idea to go with gripping shards over winter's revenge, as it immobilizes in the same fashion as talons. Blockade of frost will immobilize chilled enemies, but it's unreliable.

Shor’s Bones! I get the Shimmering Shield suggestion all the damn time! LOL!

I’ll have to try those out next time I Play! Thank You, and Kyne watch over you!
