Something Is Seriously Screwed Up

I don’t know why, but as of this new update my DK’s feel... Weak. And I don’t mean in PvP. Actually. On the contrary. I notice this only in PvE environments. It just feels like they take more damage than other classes. Neither my: Nightblades, Wardens, Sorcerers, or Templars feel like this. But my DK’s? Legitimate papier-mâché.

For example, I can go into a normal dungeon on any character and just steamroll it no problems. My HP will barely budge. I go in on either my MagDK or StamDK, and suddenly things hurt. And badly. I tested this also in VMA. A place where I have in the past (yes even post-Morrowind) could flawless no problem. Now? I’m taking 7k to 8k hits regularly, and as if my CP nor armor passives are even being taken into effect.

I also had a couple of buddies and guild members test this out, and they all said the same thing. They were receiving higher damage on their DK’s, than any of their other classes. This is on PS4-NA by the way.

    Idek seems fine on my end. But knowing ESO I bet one of the passives end up being broken randomly and will be found out some time, and fixed like 3 patches later.

    @ak_pvp I just tried Selene’s Web on my StamDK on normal difficulty. I was getting insta-gibbed and nearly triple-tapped against every boss and or relatively large group of enemies. N’ah bro. That’s not normally. I’m at CP cap, using 5 medium, 1 light, and 1 heavy, my armor isn’t broken, and my CP is setup properly (universal stamina setup, with only tiny adjustments made in The Lord and The Steed trees).

    You know what it’s like, actually? It’s as if the more I damage and or penetrate the enemy, the more it feels like it is being reflected back on me. Because when I tried switching some gear around (swapped NMG for TFS), I immediately noticed I was taking higher damage. Lol. Which was odd, considering I also was putting out significantly higher damage. It’s almost as if I’m taking what we call in Diablo 3 to be “thorns damage”. Or “reflected damage”. And this is only for DK’s I’m noticing this.

    Since you brought this up, my Stam DK of approximate 290CP getting like one shot by Virindi slave taker in hew's bane. I wasn't getting down so easily to world bosses before.

    Then when I entered Maw of Lorkhaj, 3 boss enemies literally destroyed me. I just can't sustain their AOE attacks for like 2-3 seconds.

    Since I haven't done vMA or trials in a while, I wouldn't be able to tell there. However, with the normal other PvE contents as dungeons or world bosses, I hadn't noticed. Could be as I spam Brawler and Resolving Vigor, but I'll keep an eye out now.

    @DocDova When I was farming Zaan helmets a few days ago, 1 of the other damage-dealers we had was a StamDK. And normally, she stays alive during boss fights no problem. She’s a great player, and her DPS is outstanding... Maaaaan, we got in that dungeon and it seemed like every thing that sneezed on her nearly 1-shot her. It was so bad that on the final boss, she’d actually get 1-shotted by the boss’ Zaan beam. The tank was no slouch in shooting across to block the beam either. Sometimes even he’d be standing right beside the boss. But that exact moment the beam would connect, she’d just get obliterated. It was if she wasn’t wearing gear at all, as it only took a fraction of a second for her to get annihilated.

    I am solo player, haven't done dungeons, I went to Maw following quest. Though I tanked up against initial enemies at temple, But I had no chance against 3 boss enemies. It may be I am that bad at that level of fight, But I felt No matter what I do, I won't be able to defeat them. My build is also weird, equal points in both stamina and health, I keep one hand and shield to defend and dual wield to attack.

    Thats all in your head dude. Im on console and main stam dk and havnt noticed this.

    I would say avoid red circle or maybe you had a tank who wasnt grabbin agro every 10 seconds and you were getting a heavy attack from boss. That will drop your health forsure

    There may be something to this.
    Before the patch, I could solo Fungal Grotto 1 and Darkshade Caverns with no issue on my stamDK at 230 cp's. (Ps4 EU)
    Since the patch, at 258 cp's, it's still doable, but I am getting hit very hard...using vigor way more often, and had to start taking health pots in with me for emergencies.
    Ran CoA2 on vet with guildies before the patch no problems...now I'm getting killed very fast by Valkyn Skoria...embarrassingly fast.

    Something doesn't feel quite right. Definitely much more squishy.

    Well, I don't know if it means anything but in battlegrounds my MagDK gets bigger hits than my MagSorc or MagPlar (<50). Did several battlegrounds with my Templar and Sorcerer and the max hit was between 5-6k. Did some battlegrounds on my MagDK and I frequently got hit for 6k and even 8k. Maybe it's just misperception but it was a bit strange (they're all specced in a similar way and wear light armour).

    It’s something going on. Because I shouldn’t be receiving higher damage on 1 character than another. Especially when all of the red tree champion points are setting up the same across the board. With only slight changes made for magicka and stamina toons.

    Yeah, those aren't actually, bosses. They're just normal trash mobs for MoL. Still, no shame there, that's content aimed at 12 players, so going in alone wouldn't end well.

    That's out of my league then, Initial 8-10 mob each had about 150K HP and these three guys I thought were boss has Million plus HP each, So when You tell me they too were mobs then I don't wanna lock horn with Actual Boss.

    And here I thought I was the only one that noticed this... Even with a sword and shield on my magdk for vet solos I noticed I was taking way more damage than I used to. Struggled in dungeons I usually breezed through.

    Wow, this might explain why I was having to spam GDB earlier while tanking VoM for a friend... I thought the healer was just bad. :D Also, did Blessed Crucible earlier on my sorc with a mDK tank who kept getting one-shot. He kept saying "WTF? I never die in this dungeon." I suspected the healer at the time, but now I wonder...

    Might also explain why our experienced tank was having a wipefest of his life in vHoF 4th boss. Never seen that kind of struggle in there. I didnt notice any problems on my tank thoguh? We were using exactly same sets. Only that he was imperial vampire, I was Nord and non-vamp.

    Might explain why I haven't seen any of this on my lowbie DKs, and my level capped one is a Breton... so if it is that spell resist passive, she'd never notice it.

    It's 12 man content. You're not supposed to ever be in there alone. Also, that might have been vet, off hand I think those guys only have like 300-400k on norm.

    this is good news since i just play healer for now , and do pledges normall now only , it wasnt just me healing . anyway it should be a reasonable challenge , and should not be solo , after all its a mmo , can understand delves solo play but dungeons should be team play .

    If I had to guess- I'd say that the "Scaled Armor" passive must not be working? The passive increases your spell resistance by 3300. My tooltip resistances haven't changed though.

    On that note- someone had to have messed with the passives in the latest update. Remember how the Searing Heat passive was increasing the heal on Power Lash by 2 seconds? So, we definitely know that someone's been fiddling with the DK passives. :D

    Want to enjoy the game more? Try both PvP (crybabies) and PvE (carebears). You'll get a better perspective on everyone's opinion.

    I crunched the numbers on my Breton StamKnight, but I don't think that was changed. I mean, I could be mistaken, and I didn't think to strip her naked and check her resistances without armor... one sec...

    Okay, this is weird. Nothing equipped at all, spell resist is 8770.

    Breton is 3969.

    Scaled Armor is 3300.

    Where's that extra 1510 coming from? It's the same on both bars (reequipped my weapons to check.)

    What am I forgetting?

    EDIT:

    Okay, now something's wrong: 25 points in spell shield = 2310.

    Naked spell resist should be 9570, but instead it's 800 points below that.

    Looks like Scaled Armor might be down to 2500 now, but, even so, something does not add up.

    Tried my DKtank this time. He has around 20-25k resistances and 50k health, though despite that + blocking there were times his health would literally melt away from attacks he'd never had issues with in the past. I have no clue what could be the cause, but something is definitely wrong.
