Is contrast in ESO for 4K TV's an issue for anyone?

I just got a 4K tv and usually when I get a TV I put the picture mode on "game" or "movie" setting. I had it set on "game" and noticed that when I was near a fire in ESO anyone else near the fire had a red glow that saturated them to a point I couldn't see any details. I noticed this best in the main quest cave where Sai stands near the fire. If I lower the contrast on my TV the red glow on Sai will become less intense and I can make out the details in his chest and clothing, but lowering the contrast to get to that point reduces the contrast for the rest of everything on screen and it looks horrible. At first I thought my TV might need to be looked at, that's until I went to a friend's house. He too has a 4K TV and was playing ESO. I noticed that when he was in a cave that had lava, the glow from that lava caused a oversaturated image for him as well. He told me the same thing, that if he lowers his contrast the glow goes away but the rest of everything looks bad. So he raised the contrast back up and just deals with the over saturated red glow. This seems to only happen near fire and lava.

I play on a 4k monitor and don't have issues. Probably some setting like hdr, color temp or game mode on the TV.

I tried it with HDR on but the bright areas like lights were far too bright and dark areas were far too dark, even in town in the daytime it looked weird, so I turned HDR off.

I don't know much about the settings, but I find 4K too uncomfortable to look at colorwise in general.

Yes the colors are off and moreso on consoles with hdr.

It’s not the contrast tho and if you’re using a 4K mode you need to adjust black, backlighting, turn on or off the zones (if your screen has this for true blacks) turn off dynamic contrast, any other super resolution or tv enhancements

You should instead adjust your warmth so if it’s an LG, use something like 0 or c2

If you’re open to a better picture use vivid and adjust until the eye strain isn’t as bad. This game seems to be set up for some other type of media not gaming.
See the game mode red here:

My TV is a Phillips brand. So far I haven't found a setting to adjust warmth. Later when I return home I'll try turning off HDR but it sucks to have to turn off a setting for a single game. If I can I'll post pics of the red glow I'm getting from fires and lava.

Dont buy cheap TVs , no problems with my Samsung KS7500 playing on both PC and PS4 . You should research the tech you will buy in google cuz this is what happens. Rtings.com has the best tv reviews you can see detailed information the Picture quality, HDR support, input lag, Motion Blur , RGB color range , max Brightness and tons of other stuff.

I bought a Philips a couple of months ago and had similar problems. Never could resolve them to my satisfaction so I put that tv in the bedroom and bought a Samsung. Looks great.

The game in hdr looks great on my Sony 4k. I think you just gotta mess around with the tv settings for a whil. My friend has a Samsung 4k and has the same issue your having. But now he can’t even turn on hdr without the picture going black. Not sure what the deal is with that

that is a specifoc tv issue not a 4k issues...google for optimal settings for your specific tv and look i the nvidia settings if you use full dynmaic range cause it sometimes changes to limited when playing on tv or after updates

Go to rtings.com, look up your television by model, use their settings guide for your TV. My 4K HDR looks amazing on X1X.
