You are forgetting that the Telvanni aren't very "flashy". They won't summon huge and impressive things just for show. I don't mind that they are failing to cast a "simple" spell, probably because it isn't one and they are trying to do more than just "get a light" or "juggle a flame".

It might even be "Pure Aetheric Fire", difficult to grasp and near impossible for any common mage to control.
"Doom" is likely an excessive use of the power in a less controlled form
"Juggle" is likely an attempt at perfecting the handling and manifestation of it.
Even a Master has things to learn - And the Telvanni aren't "Flashy" like some kind of common Magician. They are harnessing power that could destroy a simple Guild Sorcerer for even trying to draw on them... What would convince you that it's just a "simple mage light"?
It sounds like you've been corrupted by those overly pompous and often ostentatious N'wah from the Imperial Guilds, and the childishly flamboyant practices of that s'wit Galerion .
How do you ever expect to grasp the Teachings of the Telvanni with such a corrupted view of Magicka?
So telvanni magisters are supposed to be super powerful wizards that wield magics other mages don't even know exist.
So why then, when we do /juggleflame or /ritual or /doom, does the animation make it look like our character is struggling and having a hard time creating simple magelight?
I love the personality otherwise but it rubs me the wrong way that I look like I'm having to put so much effort into such a simple spell.
