And do not answer with " you must play the game" becouse I did. With 3 characters. And after a while it's DAUNTING to just mindless grind and not enjoying it.

It sounds like another "give me this, because I'm entitled to it" thread. It has been annoying for years, just because you don't want to level it anymore, doesn't mean it should change. As LMar said, it shows dedication to the guild, and level of training attained.

But you still have to play for hours to gain any meaningful ap, let's say to purchase things from the golden.
It's the same with running dungeons and undaunted. Takes a few hours to get what you need.
What riot? There is no difference in your examples. You need to play to earn them... /shrug
I like that you have to play to earn what you need, whether that's vigor and caltrops, or undaunted passives. I don't care if it's for 14 characters.

Ok? Just like it might take days for someone not dedicated to PvP to earn 250k/300k AP.
Again, your argument is just splitting hairs at this point.
We get it. You've done it once and you want it to be faster. Following your logic, everything should work like that.
PvP..AP should come faster after your first 250k..caltrops should be first because one charater already got them...I should already get mages guild 10 because one charater got it...fighters guild should just be unlocked.
Well, these things aren't going to change. Sorry you don't enjoy PvE. Doesn't change the fact you still have to do it to earn it. No amount of "give it to me now" forum posts are going to change it.
    Enjoy your dungeons.

-The undaunted daily delve quests are shareable...get a group and you can group together and you can run (hopefully since they're random) 4 out of the 15 available right there. I've been able to run almost all of them in one day just by sharing/toon swapping. It's a bit of a pain but that's 150 points right there if you are able to do all of them.
-Make sure you are doing other achievements too like 'This One's On Me' and running each dungeon at least once for the initial points, plus vanquisher of each alliance.
-If you're a healer make sure to do some dps a bit and vice versa so that you get 'dungeon healer' and 'dungeon damage dealer'.
-And do the daily pledges of course, it doesn't matter if they're done on normal or vet mode so I usually do normal on newer toons to make it quick and painless.

I've gotten newer toons to undaunted 9 relatively quickly this way. It'll still take a few days but if you've been running dungeons as you levelled your character it's not bad at all. It's MUCH faster than it used to be now that there are many more dungeons (normal and vet versions now, plus dlc dungeons) and the daily delves were added.

Or PVE and PVP should have to earn their prospective unlocks. Not everyone should get powerful passives/abilities for their "I participated" trophy.

It's a grind, yes, but it's a profitable business model for players to invest time into leveling their characters. If you get exactly what you want quickly- then you get bored faster... and start complaining more.

Earning AP is super easy nowadays. Just do battlegrounds. Reached Support 6 within 2 days and made 200k AP out of maybe 10-15 battlegrounds (overall less than 3-4 hours of playing PvP in the end).

    1) I play pvp toons that don't have these unlocked yet and I'm not dying all over the place. In fact, I'm usually one of the last players standing when things go south. They aren't that essential if you know how to make a proper build.

    2) You do know pve'rs use these passives too and we have to do the exact some things to get them as pvp'ers, yeah? I'd sooner walked into Vivec campaign without these passives than a vet trial. If they are essential for anything, I'd say end-game pve vet content.

Sorry, but these passives need to be earned. They should not be too easy to obtain.

And I absolutely agree with the poster who said that they are far more essential for a vet trial than PvP. I won't even try to do a DLC dungeon with a toon that hasn't completely leveled up Undaunted, but I have no problem with bringing them into Cyrodiil. True, I might be at somewhat of a disadvantage compared to players who do have these passives, but I can still earn AP (and more importantly, have fun), where as if you're too weak for a vet dungeon or trial you risk either getting kicked or fail to complete the dungeon.

And as for abilities like Caltrops, while nice to have for PvE as well, there are things you can use instead if you don't have it.

It seems to me that typically the most important abilities are at the start of a skill tree, while the smallest effects come in last. That kinda makes sense I suppose, but when you get to the point where you're trying to min-max it means a longer grind (and rightfully so).

A good group can do it in a single day - just spam the vet dungeons for speed/no death runs and it’s done.

It takes far longer than a ‘few hours’ for those who don’t PvP at all regularly to unlock the skills. Never mind the fact most of the time is just spent riding around looking for a fight.

I love that this was turned into a PVE vs PVP issue. As someone who has mettle on exactly one character, two alts who definitely need it, and the other six/seven who are maxed and will eventually need it when I decide to work on them, mettle is sufficiently difficult to attain.

It's good enough where it is.

Getting all pve skills and skill points + leveling a new character takes a month. Getting all pvp skill points takes half a year if you're good and don't do anything else except pvp for that period of time. People comparing vigor vs. undaunted are just being dishonest. Compare everything with everything, and then you get a true picture: pvp is at least 5x more of a grind to pve players than the other way around. So if somebody is going to be complaining about how easy pvp is for pve players, I'm just going to say: stop lying!

As for the matter at hand, I actually think that hiding skills and skill points behind difficult end game content that requires significant skill to complete is actually bad design. Not sure undaunted qualifies for that, since normal dungeons are a joke, but pvp certainly does. With that said, I don't mind pvpers getting undaunted quickly, if I could get the 50 pvp skill points as quickly as I can get 50 skill points in pve.
