Are Some Motifs That Rare?

On PS4-NA I have been searching for hours now in every zone’s guild traders and chat for Apostle Chests motif, and have it seen it anywhere. Like anywhere. Not even for an obnoxiously high price either. It’s like the thing doesn’t exist. That and Telvanni helmets. I previously had this issue with Ebonshadow Staff motif, and thankfully came across it (bought it immediately without hesitation). And haven’t seen a single 1 of those since.

So my question is, are some motifs truly more rare than others? I mean, I’ve seen TONS of B.A. motifs, and those are supposed to be the top of the top on the rarity scale. But Apostle chests? Pretty much non-existent. Is this really a thing, or it just a case of damn near the entire PS4-NA population looking for this motif?

By the way, I remember we had a similar legitimate bug of this happening on PS4-NA a few times regarding both items (set pieces) and motifs. The last time this happened, Agility rings in robust were pretty much non-existent (or had a stupidly low drop-rate). Resulting in them being treated like black diamonds, until ZOS included a fix in the following patch to have them drop more often. And this resulted chaos in the market. People were paying 750k+ for those damn Agility rings, and even then just finding them in traders were a myth. So what’s going on here?

all the cool looking motifs are currently being sniped so apostles for cool factor, minotaur and mazzutun for skimpy outfits, etc. BA is only bought by completionists really and a few pieces might be wanted but isn't really that wanted enough to be wiling to pay 400k for a page. many people also took advantage of getting ba in crown crates instead of paying 3 mil for a motif so many that did want it are out of the market.

@aliyavana So I should expect this bs to occur for the next few months I’m assuming? Because it really seems like no one was even bothering with a lot of these motifs prior to the outfit system. Now a lot of things have up and vanished, or went sky high in price/value. Put it like this, I sold a damn Celestial helmets motif to someone for 50k. When I couldn’t even sell it for 3k just a few weeks ago in traders (both of the guild traders I’m in are in well-populated zones like Grahtwood).

I wouldn't exactly call it bs from a seller perspective, after a while motifs pile up and vastly decrease in price to the point where some motifs may not be worth the effort trying to sell like merc, but I can see your frustration from a buyer perspective. I think its healthy for the game that gold is being put back into the economy via increased motif prices instead of being hoarded and serves as a gold sink.

The eBay mentality is reaching over to the game, where people will think that because one guy sold something at a certain high price, that's the high price the item has to remain at. Even though it will never sell because that sale was an outlier.

So for certain motifs and style materials, if you can do the legwork yourself just ignore the game economy. I'd say prices going to cool off in a few months, but in bubbles once prices rise they tend to go down a lot more slowly.

I finally got it just now, and from talking to people who knew people who knew people. Was so greatful that I even paid everyone involved in helping me track down the damn thing. Lol. Was worthy every piece of gold spent, however. :)

How often does TTC's website update? The top 7 apostle leg pages aren't being removed from the site, but they are definitely not at those traders. It's said the same ones for days now, but they're not there. All I need to get my outfit started is the legs (the rest can be added in later).

It gets updated when someone runs the TTC client and uploads their data.

Not everyone participates in TTC either ... so Apostle Legs could be out there in a guild store that's not listed on the website. Or, more frequently, something is bought before even being listed on the TTC website.

I finally found one for 9k, it was on TTC as last seen 20 minutes ago, so I got there asap. I wasn't really sure how it worked with the site updates.

Apostle pieces are selling for as low as 9k on PC? Damn you guys got it good. I had to pay 50k for my Apostle chest, and around 20k to 25k for all the other pieces. Cheapest apostle piece on market for PS4-NA is probably daggers or axes for like 18k and onward.
