I went to PTS and made comparison, the Hew's carpet is minimally bigger than the desert sun mat, literally by about half the tile if you count preview tiles. I put them next to each other and the differenc is neglegible to me. The pattern is a bit different and the price is Ok, so I'm still buying it.

I also looked at the achievement well in Hew's bane, it's 15k and the bottom is hollow, so can't be flipped. Thanks folks for pointing out the uses of the luxury well as pavement

sorry, but they normally are. 2500-100k is the normal range. we get lucky some weeks with the really cool stuff only being 20k or 50k, but id strongly advise looking up one of the many lists showing you now what is scheduled that week so you can somewhat estimate what type item is coming up when and save up.
I've been on top of the luxury vendor since it came out, I know the typical range. ;-) It's more that the new stuff, specifically, seems to be pushing up the price boundary. When they do the plant things again in 3 weeks I'm hoping they don't have, like, a 50k tiny flower, for example. The 20k glow bushes were steep enough for their small size.Men'Do PC NA AD Khajiit

Yeah, there are much better looking wells in the game. Unfortunately, the best being the Hew's Bane one on the crown store.
