More From the Outfit System?

Does anyone think we should have more options? Not typically dyes or motifs but other options?

It'd be nice to have a left/right/both/hide option for shoulder and hand pieces. Mainly because some motif shoulders/gloves would look cool on only one arm. And having Monster set shoulders (plural) is a dead horse I'm sure.

I know hide is a popular request for all armour pieces.

Tattoo colours maybe? Because they all look a bit pale?

Can anyone think of anything else that's "missing" for lack of a better word?

I'd like them to add appearances which aren't from motifs, like the clothing we can steal, monster helms and the broom and bucket from the crown store.

I craft most of my own armour anyway so at the moment the only benefit I get from the outfit system is the ability to choose which tier of racial motif to use and having a consistent look which doesn't change when my low level characters keep swapping out gear for new drops. If there were non-craftable styles available that would make it a lot more versatile.

I like the system honestly. It could be better but I'm just thankful they finally added something to this effect.

It does need more options in the future and hopefully we will get them. For now though, I'm happy with it and it'll hold me over for the time being.

Letting you use pieces from costumes you bought for your account just like others are suggesting doing with dropped clothing and monster pieces.

Pricing it in IRL money and game money that is in some way rational.

I'd like to see regular clothing patterns added... for those times I may not feel like running around looking like a Dwemer dumptruck.

Let me use staff styles for 1h and 2h weapons. That way i could finally use a spear/polearm.

Would love they just remove motifs and just give us the style via deconstruction bam solved motif issues and keeps ppl going into dungeons since every armor peice is in game just make enemies in the region drop gear in those styles so we can get it. Free up a million headaches in the guild trader trying to find a boot motif and add a style info part to gear so we know its style amd if we have it

First I agree that motif scarcity is BS.... But.

It is part of the end game economy :/

Personally I am not a big fan of the 'economy game'... but it does exist and it is a carrot to chase for the end game.

There does need to be end game carrots... (although I think the motif carrot is a bit harder than it should be)

If you don't think so try out a game like Destiny 2...

You can basically get to Max level and have nothing but new 'gun' to chase in about 20 to 30 hours of game play.

They 'new' guns basically can't be much better than the basic guns since that would 'break' game play...

And since their is no content like motifs and non combat skills or 'set bonuses' to chase... there is no sense of continuous end game progression...

Unless you obsess over trying to do their ridicules 'Raids', it makes the game feel DONE very fast.

I am not even going to bother to play Destiny 2's second DLC that I already paid for at launch.

So the short recap.. I agree with you that motif progression is too slow... but I do think it should exist to give you end game carrots to chase.

I'd like the ability to change weapon appearance without having to change 'outfit' as well. Right now weapon appearance is tied to each outfit and you cannot have two 'outfits' active at once so you cannot combine different weapons with different outfits unless you specifically change the outfit's weapon for each.

I wouldn't go as far as to say a left and right option, but it would be nice if under the collections tab, like with hats, we could hide other pieces of our equipment. My Dunmer is sporting the hellaciously awesome Pact Warrior tattoo. But no one can see it, because I can't hide any of my upper body armor.

In Guild Wars 2, in your equipment screen, you can check various pieces of gear such as hands, shoulders, helmet, boots, and I THINK chest armor. I could be wrong on the chest armor. Been a year or more since my last log in.

I wrote this on another thread, maybe it is more appropriate here...

    >>>
When I first heard outfits were coming I thought "Awesome!" Except, I thought it would be more than cosmetic. :frowning: I had hoped that we would be able to swap gear for each outfit. If that were the case, I'd be more willing to buy outfit slots. As it is, "meh"

    Outfit Wish-list Requirements:
    - Each outfit would/could have it's own gear, skill bars, quick slots & emotes. (Possibly even personalities and other applicable character specials)
    - No limitation for repeating gear, skills, etc. across outfits.
    - Gear selected for at least one outfit would have the "equiped" status and only show up in appropriate lists for actions.
    - Characters would be granted one outfit on creation and one additional at CP160. (Applied retroactively to existing characters) Additional outfits purchased as they are now.
    - Switching outfits would have the same limitations as switching skills in terms of where and when they can be switched.
    - All armor slots be hide-able. Come on! People have tats to show off!
    <<<

Reading above I also like the idea of left/right hide

Here's what I would like to see from the Outfit system:
    (with some images I made)

[click to see the full images]

    1. Option to change left and right shoulder-piece separately
Like in this example where I'm using Breton (medium) and Wood Elf (heavy).
    47VK2CE.jpg
Some shoulder-pieces (like this type), would be automatically applied to both left and right shoulder.

    2. Hide any armor piece
Here, both the Head and Chest armor-slot is hidden. Great if you want to create a tribal looking character like the one below, and/or to show off your tattoos/markings.
    UyZkfyk.jpg
As a compromise there could be a restriction to only be able to hide a maximum of 3 armor-pieces (to prevent people in PvP etc. to seemingly run around without armor).

    3. Option to change Bow and Quiver separately
Here is an example where I'm using the Ashlander Bow and the Dreadhorn Quiver.
    70AuoCd.jpg
This would be amazing addition to the Outfit System. There are so many cool bows I ended up not using because I hated the look of the quiver (or the other way around).

    I just want a shirtless option :/
Difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 25 DLCs. 41 game changing updates including A Realm Reborn-tier overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver&Gold as a "you think you do but you don't"-tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game.

Also - as a fairly simple change - it would be great if Light Chests was divided in to Light Robes and Light Jerkins, instead of being bundled under the same category as they are now.
So that under the "Chest" banner in the Outfit Station you have Light Robes, Light Jerkins, Medium, and Heavy.

    ROBED LEGS OPTION!

    That is all

Daedric light legs give you a robe lower half.

Several heavy styles also give a half robe on the legs (like mercenary, skinchanger, malacath, trinimac, etc).

I know right now I use the Daedric legs, but there are so many great robes in the game, and I'd like to have the option to use them with my heavy armor chest.
