Am I the only one around here whom finds Whirling Blades more effective than Steel Tornado?

I mean, it is on the dual wield bar, so you would be attacking enemies up close, so who needs the extra range?! It's not like you're going to run it on bow bar anytime soon.
With strength and intelligence comes hard work.

Which is why not a lot of people are strong nor intelligent.

I do see a lot of players in PVE with steel tornado and I'm like why? The NPCS are going to close in on you anyway if it's not a mage or archer, and whirling blades has that nice major endurance buff.

Because 5m means you practically have to stand on top of your enemies, and besides, Major Endurance isn’t a buff that’s tough to acquire - any stam pot will do.

I hate the sound of Steel Tornado so I have no choice anyway.

Same here. Instead of a tornado of steel, is sounds more like an old lady who has pneumonia wheezing.

Is not it enough that Whirling Blades is melee damage, unlike Steel Tornado? Well, it is more easy to sustain the first one as well.
    Everything is viable

Steel Tornado is the largest AoE spammable in the game. 9m. That is a massive radius and the skill covers a massive area. Take that away and you have a useless skill. The whole point is to be able to touch enemies without being on top of them and also to be able to touch them without having you recticle pointed at them in places like vMA. So you're securing kills or damage without having the requirement of range.

Steel tornado is the best option for noobs and pros alike. That extra range to aoe cleave more enemies is quite useful. You don't have to be standing right into the thick of it either which means you can kinda kite and just steel tornado all the things. A bit more breathing room to avoid red too.

But I like to be in the middle of everything! Actually for the longest time I refused to use a bow as my back bar because I like being in melee so much, it's from my tanking days. I do prefer whirling blades though just for the stam recovery.

Lets not forget the game isnt about 1v1s.
ST is a HUGE aoe execute. It shouldnt be buffed at all for this very reason but the whirling blades needs a change. Endurance on execute is pointless.

Serious people dont divide PvP and PvE.
In addition you can only use EITHER WHIRLING BLADES OR STEELNADO.
Further more you quoted me saying SnB/2h meta.

I fail to understand your need to say "dw is the top of the list blablablaPvE"

The lower range makes it count as melee damage, which allows any melee procs to work. This includes axe bleeds. It's significantly better for DPS in fights with dense enemy placement.
