What do you think the next ESO PVP campaign will be?

I've been seeing stories in books that look like they are setting up for a change and lets face it Cyrodiil has been the campaign since launch and is getting a bit long in the tooth, so I'm asking this question.

Do you think the next PVP campaign will be a future chapter, DLC, or ESO II?

I'm not making this a poll as I would like to also hear other ideas of what you think it could be or be centered around. Heck its been a long time since I stayed on these forums, have they announced something that I missed? If so, What?

I'm pretty sure that Cyrodiil will be the setting for standard PvP until the servers shut down. You may see other PvP additions like dueling or battlegrounds every once in a while, but the idea of completely shutting down Cyrodiil and creating a new zone just sounds too farfetched.

Do other MMOs only have one campaign or are there multiple campaigns in other long standing games?

Edit: sorry, campaign locations, not rule sets.

I could see them maybe someday revamping Cyrodiil, but not replacing it.

Campaign is probably the wrong term. There have been multiple campaigns in ESO sense over the years, currently all platforms have 4

    Beginner L1-49 Kyne
    Shor CP 7 Day
    Vivec CP 30 Day
    Sotha Sil NoCP 30 Day

I think you mean Zone (map / instance) right?

But with Cyro, Imp City and Battlegrounds I would.be surprised if they diluted the PvP Pop with Cyro 2. Investment right now is in BG maps. So that's PvP extension right now

I don't think there will be additional PVP zones.

Let's look at it. Cyrodiil is what it is. There are minimal changes to it, and its been losing campaigns, not gaining them.

Imperial City is dead most of the year - and that's pretty much the nail in the coffin of any other mixed PVE/PVP zones.

Battlegrounds has population issues, even now going back to No CP for better balance and ZOS can keep adding new zones and modes to it easily.

I don't think there's the interest or sustained population to support more PVP modes or zones.

I am just asking because story wise it looks like they have been setting up for something like Nirn vs Deadric Realm or something to that effect. Go back and listen to the Prophet at the end of the Morrowind story. Three Deadra, one introduced in Morrowind, 2nd in Clockwork City, and I assume 3rd in Summerset (or what ever its going to be called) and mention of a war.

Fair enough, but what does that have to do with replacing the current PvP zone? New areas will be added multiple times a year, but I'd say with 99.99% certainty that it will not replace Cyrodiil.

I never said replace, I said next. It is my understanding that nothing goes away in a game like this until they shut the servers down for good. Sorry if my question did not come across the right way, I am not from the MMO side of things.

I don't see them putting the effort to craft a whole new map on the scale of Cyrodiil.

@ZOS_BrianWheeler hear me out though. The hard part for ZOS is that PVP brings in very little money by itself, so there isn't incentive for them to invest resources to it. This game still has so much potential though.

I could see adjusting rulesets for different campaigns. Maybe a campaign with maximum group size of 8, 12 or 16.

Scoring should be changed to include total time of control rather than just the on-the-hour calculation it is currently.

Changing the Emperor defense rules would help prevent the lagfest of Emperor dethrones. Make it so you have to hold one Emperor ring keep and at least one Tri-keep and scroll to maintain Emperor so that defenders need to spread out.

Also hopefully they will update objectives, adding incentives to spread out. I would like to see caravan guard/raiding quests added.

Resources could spawn in keeps when captured depending on the level of the keep and you have to escort those resources back into friendly territory. Similar to retrieving scrolls but with more frequency and resources being carried by more than one person.

This could also give incentive to holding/taking enemy resources deep in enemy territory because they build up resources as the resource levels up.

Even though it would bring more lag, I would like the population caps to be raised. There isn't enough population to support enough groups and multiple fronts so people end up zerging more with the low pop cap.

What about something as simple as introducing some NPC classes as playable classes and adding Deadric forces as a 4th group vying for control of Cyrodiil?

NPCs have all sorts of skills and abilities not available to Player Characters. Necromancer comes to mind, but not sure how that would work in PVP.

Yes I know, far fetched idea, but just trying to get ideas.

From what I gather so far everyone's answer would be ESO 2, since it will not happen in this game.

as a pvp addict (hmmm, thank goodness for auto correct, originally I typed pcp) - I would love to see some environment changes to cyrodiil, or, a whole new map...

i'm not a big fan of the mount simulator stuff, and, it seems as though so much of cyrodiil is simply wasted space that would be much better served as pve zones...

you know what i'm really thinking though - I could definitely go for a cold glass of chocolate milk right now...

Best bet would be eso2. They have real trouble filling up more than one campaign as is, at least on ps4na.
Not sure if they would be willing to dedicate tons of resources for a segment of the fanbase that really doesn't spend that much money, at least in comparison to how much pve'rs spend.

Whatever is coming / decided they just need to separate PvE and PvP as the balancing is all over the place.

They should be two separate entities.

I don’t think there will be a new Cyrodiil. ZOS won’t even commit themselves to any meaningful improvements so it’s unlikely they’re revamping or building a new one.

There will be new campaigns spun up to handle the load during Midyear Mayhem. But I don't expect to see anything change in Cyrodiil. Just like ZOS will add new maps and game modes to BGs, but nothing fundamental will change.

So no offense but if there are going to be 3 dadera. 3 warnings and 3 lands, it's probably going be a new PvP/PvE dlc. In which Imperial will be the 1St. Most likely will be in Cyrodiil, as well as 3 different portals. With that being said and Image no valid proof. Do these Dadera have a name? Something tells me that it could be based off of an ancient story and or revamped story. But something in my gut, tells me that these dadera are Princes.

If there is indeed a war going on, I feel that they are brothers as well. But like I said, it based off a story if ESO is going that root. (many crown store items and among other things are based off of ancient things in real life.) But I never read this tale before, nor have I heard it before. But always trust your gut right? I just look it up, because I feel that these dadera are like Prince figures to me. But look up "The Tale of 3 Princes" I'm sure it's good plot, that @ZOS could work around these 3 dadera?

I don't see them adding a new map the size of Cyrodiil either. I wish they would revamp Cyrodiil though.
      - Remove the dlc restriction for the IC districts, remove the loading screens in there and make it accessible from the 3 broken bridges currently guarded by daedroths.
      - Make the districts a part of the requirement for emperorship
      - Add a couple forts on the outer skirts of Cyro, in the unused parts of the map, and grant the owning faction some sort of bonus to incentivize people to capture them.

Some easy to implement change :
      - Make the requirement to port to a friendly keep to be 3 ressources owned when travelling to a keep in enemy territory, 2 ressources for a central keep and 1 ressource for home keeps.

There is one-way to revamp (No Vampire) Cyrodiil. Take away all towns, all Npc's (Non Guards and Town Guards) take away all dungeons in Cyrodiil. Take away all dolman (get cold fire as PvP keep reward.) Take away the Slaughter Fish. Then we all have new Cyrodiil with nothing new. Put in game

I've thought for a long time that an easy way for ZOS to mix things up a bit would be to rotate faction locations clockwise after each campaign. AD goes to Blue spot, Blues to Reds, and Reds to AD spot. Gives everyone a chance to hang in a different part of the world with different topography, map advantages/disadvantages, etc. Also think that something could be done to incorporate Imperial City with regular Cyradiil somehow, though this would be complicated I know. But I agree that some changes could spice things up a tad.

and eventually get those last two skyshards without having to have a group with you or control of the keeps with your alliance.

Yea I rarely PvP, but I use to go there solo or with a couple of friends a lot in the beginning.
