It's an okay set for some purposes, but it's certainly not an end-game set.

But it is named after Queen Ayrenn, which is a plus.

You people and your insistence on thinking some sets are junk. Elegance hasnt been meta for awhile now, but it used to be used quite often, usually by sorcs because of overload. If by "good" you mean meta? Then no, its not the flavor of the week anymore, but ANY set can be good in the right circumstances, or used by the right player...it all depends on your playstyle...do you like light and heavy attacks? Elegance might be for you. Do you like spamming crystal frags? maybe not.

"You people"? What's that supposed to mean? In my post, I agreed with you. I said it's an okay set for some circumstances, but it's not an end-game set (not meta).

It's a good transitional "noob" set. Use it if you cannot afford better sets and have not grinded the endgame meta sets yet.

I use this set + Necropotence on my pet sorc for vMA runs. Works great. However, I would never use it for anything else.

My magsorc with pets runs simple necropotence + julianos and that is a good combo. Since you have pet(s), necropotence is a great choice so, for me, it would boil down to julianos vs elegant. Even though heavy lightning attacks are an integral part of my sorc's rotation (and allow very low mag regen) and I have the choice, I stay with julianos since it boosts all my damage, not just my heavies (and don't use many light attacks).

I run:
5x Necropotence
4x Queens Elegance (jewelry + lightening staff)
2x Infernal Guardian (monster set)

A lot of sorcs use Grothdarr for their monster set in vMA but I prefer Infernal Guardian. Why? Shields. You will be constantly reapplying your shields and when you use a damage shield ability, you have a 50% chance to lob 3 mortars over 2 seconds at the further enemy from you that each deal 5500 Flame Damage to all enemies within 5 meters of the blast area. This effect can occur once every 6 seconds. This set will proc non-stop and it helps deal with those pesky mobs far away from you that cause us grief; and it saves us some running around the arenas.

Yeapers, infernal guardian was always a go to for vMA sorcy builds~

In pvp you can doo niceeeeee things with it ( group play )

I used to have fun with 5 elegant 3 jewelry 2 swords
5 netches touch or spinners on body and 2 kena.

Overload hit for over 20k crit ( pvp ) on some people

If you're always weaving with light/heavy attacks with the staff, then the set is decent. Otherwise, it's a waste.

This, the bump with overload on light attacks can hit really hard in PVP, and the fact that you get multiple shots per Ultimate. Don't underestimate this in pvp.

3 items of Elegance is ALMOST as good as Willpower. Almost. And easy to get.

The problem with elegance is that it only applies to base heavy attack damage, so you get very little out of it compared to other sets which provide a raw boost to heavy attack damage.

It's a pretty bad set, it's a 20% increase on a small portion of your damage. Light and heavy attacks shouldn't exceed about 25% of your damage. I'm not sure if this is additive or multiplicative with other % bonuses (CP, berserk, slayer, staff bonuses), if it is additive then the 20% is really closer to 12-15%.

If you are using lightning heavy attacks, compare this to the Netch set 5 pc bonus of 400 spell damage. If you have 2500 spell damage (unbuffed) and 40k Magicka this results in about 12% increase on light and heavy attacks. Unlike elegance, Netch also buffs liquid lightning, Mage's wrath/endless fury, shock clench, wall of elements, and Destro ultimate.

I presume you use Overload a lot?

Also -- is this 5/5/1, or do you go 5/4 Elegance on your bar that has Overload and 5/4 Necropotence on your other bar?

hmmmm, you just gave me an idea...i have my magblade in torug's pact and spinners - i might try exchanging spinners for knight slayer and see how much oblivion damage i can do...

i'm pretty sure oblivion damage ignores shields...

I tried this on a magdk but literally winding up heavies all the time just takes too long and you are gap closed and just wrecked.

It was fun standing on a keep wall and banging down enemies.
