Item durability and Training XP boost

Quick question: does item durability impact the XP boost provided by the Training trait? If all my gear is completely broken do I still get the XP boost or do I need to repair it first?
On a separate topic: my golly this game needs a server transfer option! I am completely maxed out on the NA server and now that we moved to Europe the ping on the EU server is just too good to pass on. But starting all the way from scratch is so painful! Even all crown store items are gone. They could have at least let me keep those! I went from being Max CP, maelstrom/trial gear, master crafter, etc to being a complete broke noob doing mind numbing dolmen runs trying to get to level 50 asap.... ouch!

✭No. It counts as a unarmored slot.
No trait, active armor skill, enchantment or set passive works if your armor is completely broken.NB enthusiastic:- Woodhippie stamblade - DW hard-hitter / PvE
- Know-it-all elf Magblade - Healer / PvE & PvP
- Hate-them-all elf Magblade - Destrostaff AoE monster / PvE
- Cyrodiil-Refugee stamblade - Stamina Tank / PvE
