Is this normal since the patch? Ping spikes 999+ and booting to main menu.

Hey.

I came back for the latest patch and have been playing since a couple of days now.

Today I started getting a completely random issue which consists of my character flailing his weapons around randomly without being able to hit anything and remaining "frozen" like that for about a minute. Then I usually get booted to the main menu and can't log back in for a while.

Can someone confirm if that's an actual issue with the game atm or is it a problem with my internet?

Thanks in advance.

The ping spikes are common now in the game, regardless of internet provider. I was having 2sec spikes in a delve in Eastmarch a couple weeks ago.
The "freezing" and boot have been an issue since launch. It only occurs for me during peak times in Cyrodiil.

not had any of the issues you describe.

    try flushing your dns cache.

if you don't know how read on....

    run command prompt as admin

    type ipconfig /flushdns

    then hit enter.... job done

doesn't hurt to reboot after that.

Yes this issue is on going The Akamai network that runs to dallas is the issue. They have a packet loss that is causing issues. I dont know if anyone at ZOS has been notified but there is an issue running to the server. One thing that i have been doing is lowering my sub sampling To low (game looks like dog crap) but i feel like my latency spikes have help cleared some... im almost 100% certain from the tests i have ran that there is a issue with how the packets and data is transmitted between client and server. Its beyond frustrating but i'm glad i'm not the only one who is experience this issue
