8th storage box

Just wondering how many veteran players created a new character just to get the 8th storage container for their home?

Is ZOS just money grubbing, putting that last container behind a pay wall so we have to buy a new character slot and level up to get that last box?

Just curious…

In other words, do you have all 14 characters maxed in bag and horse capacity, bank space maxed, and have bought 7 storage containers?

it doesn't matter. I guess my subbing for 2+ years means nothing. I shouldn't have to buy a character to have the maximum capacity of storage in my home.

No i don't have 14 character because the prices hurt my back side. but I am short on storage space.

Not my fault you’re not using what is available to you in the game for storage capacity.

With ESO+, which you have, you should be approaching 3,000 inventory spots already with full bank, character bag, and horse capicity.

You’re complaining about 60 slots in one storage container.

it't not about the storage slots it about the fact that they keep changing the game to alienate the vets.

ZoS said we would be able to buy 8 chests, (4&4).

Home Storage Furnishings
We’re pleased to introduce a new form of collectible – storage furnishings! These account-wide items allow you to store 30 or 60 items per collectible, depending on the size. You can acquire four 30-slot coffers and four 60-slot chests, for a combined total of up to 360 storage slots.

No mention of having to have a new character to get the 8th one.

You can purchase storage coffers and chests from the Achievement Mediator, the Crown Store, or from Tel Var Merchants. You can also earn a storage coffer from the Level Up Advisor (detailed below) upon reaching level 18.

Here it says we can "ALSO" get it from leveling instead of "Only" get it with leveling.

I was excited at the news of Storage Chest's. (Now if we could just get more Housing Slots! Lol).
But kinda bummed we HAVE to level a new toon to get the 8Th chest.

I did create a 15th character and run her thru - to 48th so far - and so i got the extra 50 tranny crystals and the 8th crate/coffer whatever.

I actually was not sure it was available thru crowns.

the other 7 i bought day one thru 1100 vouchers.

So, not seeing this massively evil cash grab thing at all as a crate related element.

I mean, i had 14 slots (so six bought) before the crate/coffer/level up rewards were even a thing so... no changes there.

Then again Crownspiracy theories are just a way of life and loads of fun for some and frankly its seemed to be time for a crop of new ones.

Having created my 15th character I can't emphasize enough that I'm more annoyed by re-doing mount training all over yet again than I am about having to purchase a 15th slot. That and the bait and switch at the last moment with the character leveling rewards not giving us a free inventory slot upgrade unless it's the first... that's just spiteful.

My 14th character is just celebrating ending logging out next to the Stablemaster every day and now I'm just a week into yet another pointless 120 day Stablemaster grind. "Fun"

you don't have to have 14 character maxed. you have to start buying slots after 8. so if someone has their 8 characters rolled and leveled up? they are facing the same choice of "delete or buy a character slot" as someone with 14 characters.

and yes. i did end up buying a character slot. but for me at least it was only partially for the box and partially because oh, hell might as well have one of each class/stat after all. even if that new character that was created as much for storage as to have a magika warden.. is currently stuck leveling a horse for the next few months. because apparently logging in once a day to click a button - takes skill or something >_>

To be honest, I'm not sure why the 8th storage chest and the brown sorrel horse can't still be available for purchase via crowns/gold. I don't see how that affects the level-up rewards. People who already own these will just not get the level-up reward when it becomes due. Similar to how the bag and bank space level-up rewards work.

Absolutely nothing, but he posts the same thing in every single thread on the subject for some reason.

Anyway. I did pick up an extra character slot (my 12th) to get the storage container. I strongly prefer storage containers that can easily be renamed to indicate their contents over storing items on alt characters.

I wanted to create a mag warden anyway, just hadn’t gotten around to it yet. But I can see how paying to create a new character when you really didn’t want a new character otherwise would be very annoying.

The container in the leveling advisor is only a 30 slot container. I suspect that they removed it and the brown horse from being purchasable with crowns/gold specifically because they didn't want to field a lot of complaints about people buying it before they realized they could have gotten one for free.

Maybe they can add a warning to the descriptive text of the items?

Don't worry, after enough people bought the 15th character slot they'll fix it so that you can get the last storage box with crowns.

You can use crowns to buy storage chests. Sure, you can use crowns to buy inventory upgrades, but they are very expensive given what you get for the crowns. One does not have to max all inventory spots before being able to complain about buying storage chests. And people use crowns instead of in-game money because they don't have time to farm gold. Lay off her/his case, friend!

if it had gone the other way i would be fine too.

Either way, i would have done the 15th character,

Closing in on 50 and the jump to max cp.

It's actually 30 slots. The freebie box is just a coffer.
