Pre Trials gear Magblade dps

I'm currently running Julianos, willpower, and valkyn. I've pretty much just used Alcasts "azure" build for skills + rotation and I'm pretty good at light attack weaving and keeping the rotation up yet I can only net around 16k dps on a target dummy solo. I've done nHOF, nSO, and vBRF on this character

Are there any sets I can combine to increase this number before I start farming trials gear or am I stuck in this until I pug enough to get a full set of moondancer or master architect?

I run 5x Burning Spell Weave with 5x Mechanical Acuity (backbar) and 2x Zaan. Skoria or Ilambris will also work.

Purple gear with gold weapons and I can easily parse 28k with a messy rotation.

If you only hit 16k gear is not the issue though, your rotation probably is. Most important thing is to keep up ground dots, weave with swallow soul and shoot merciless procs.

-Are you getting 2-3 bow proc per cast?
-Are you missing light attacks?
-Do you have 80%+ dots uptime?
-Is your weapons gold quality?
-How is your sustain? Do you keep your siphoning up?
-Are you applying drain on the dummy?
-How is your cp?, if you are on pc, download constellation addon with combat metric, do a full parse, import the data and set the penetration to cap (18.2k) and damage bonus to 0, or 5% with moon or a bit more with ma depending on major slayer uptime, and let the addon calculate.

-2 procs per cast 90% of the time
-Dots are nearly always up only time they aren't is if I'm out of mag and heavy attacking to get them back up
Weapons are purple right now and are just a random staves (fire/lighting) because I don't have maelstrom
-sustain is alright, I use pots and such but around 30% on the dummy is where I start to feel it ad siphoning is always up
-no drain on dummy
-670 cp and I'm on Xbone

For a parse you can slot Elemental Drain instead of a shield. It helps with sustain and boosts dmg. Still you should be hitting a lot higher numbers.

For CP I would aim for a realistic setup spell pen wise. Usually the tank will run infused crusher and major breach is applied by the healer.

I also recently jumped on the magblade hype train with a new High Elf nightblade, but I don't have trial gear for her yet so I'm in a similar situation. I'm cp690 for reference.

Right now my dps is up to 31k after getting the first part undaunted mettle passive last night. That's self buffed on a 3M target dummy. My setup is 5xJulianos 4xElegant 2xValkyn and a sharpened Maelstrom Inferno staff backbar (all I had at the time). All divines armor and infused Elegant inferno staff front bar, Apprentice mundus stone. I went with Queen's Elegance set because I wanted a cheap but good temporary placeholder for Moondancer until I find the time to farm it. It might actually be worthwhile to switch to 3xWillpower jewelry and a random staff frontbar, but I'll have to test to see. Rotation is basically the same as the Alcast setup, just using Ele Drain instead of your shield.

So as for your case, I would recommend prioritizing golding out your weapons. Very nice dps boost from that alone. You can expect another large dps boost once you get a Maelstrom inferno staff as well. Gold armor doesn't really matter that much, but I did gold out my Valkyn set because it increases the damage it does.

What kind of potions are you using? If you're not using Spell Power pots, then you need another source of the 20% spell damage buff (i.e. mages guild entropy). 20% extra spell damage is huge and you should try to keep the buff up at all times. If you are using spell power pots, do you have the medicinal use alchemy passive? That is required for 100% uptime.

Other than that, I think it's a matter of rotation. I know that I still have a bit to go before I can comfortably say that I've perfected the rotation. I predict that I could push 33-35k with my current setup once I perfect the rotation and get the last undaunted mettle point and medicinal use alchemy passive. But yes, it is very doable to get 30k+ dps without having trial gear.
