How much do you think a class change should cost, in terms of gold and crowns? And how often should you be allowed to do it?

I would actually like to be able to change the class of my oldest character. She's been reduced to crafter because, not to put too fine a point on it, I suck at playing a Nightblade. I came from Skyrim where I loved my bow but I don't in ESO. I was ferocious and fearsome in KOA: Reckoning with dual blades (do NOT laugh) but I'm barely annoying in ESO. I don't want to play end game but I would like even my crafter to be competent enough to reach a set crafting station without being molested by the wildlife. I gave her a staff but I just never got the hang of NB so I would like to change her to something else.

I don't think it should cost more than a reset skills since that's all I would be doing just on a different skill tree. As for how often, why should it matter? Players can change their names and races at will why not class? It seems to me that the volatility of class stats in patches and bigger releases are such that a class change should be an option.

Thats an excellent question. I kind of didnt meant this thread seriously, because i already had a few serious threads some time ago, and there are so many on this topic already. Maybe ill make a serious one again sometime, or revive the one thats not that old atm. But to answer the question anyways:

I think it should only be obtainable from the Crown Store and cost 3000 crowns, just like the Racechange. That would make the most sense to me, so they would make profit out of it... a LOT of profit. Profit they really miss out on atm. As for how often, i personally would like unlimited uses, like the Racechange, but i personally could live with once every 3 months, for all the people that would say "But then you can just make your main the meta class and blah."

Benefit of Class Change: Already have relevant guild and weapon skills leveled up, bank and bag space upgraded, horse upgraded, and keep character specific achievements (not those related to class). ZOS makes a ton of money off of Flavor-of-the-Month chasers.

Cons of Class Change: ZOS loses out on the time/potential crowns to level up a new character and grind out guild/weapon lines, bag space, horse upgrades, and achievements would be a mess. Everyone complains that ZOS is deliberately nerfing classes in order to get more money from Flavor-or-the-Month chasers.

As is said, i think they really would make more profit with putting classchanges in the store for 3k crowns. I bet my left nippletit that at least 60% of active players would instantly change the class of at least one char they have. So at the first day they would have probably made more profit then all the other stuff makes in months. And it will continue to make a lot of money afterwards.

But maybe its not just that they dont want to do it. Its probably because they cant. Ive heard from someone that they tried to make a private Eso Server and experimented with a lot of ideas, classchanges included. But he said they couldnt figure it out, it was too complicated.
And sadly, i honestly dont think Zenimax themselves could program classchanges. I mean, look at the game. The game itself is nice, but its a mess. The programming is so inefficient, bugged and complicated, everything there is atm makes such a big knot that maybe noone could ever unravel it to program something so fundamental into the game now. Maybe thats the reason we only get DLCs...

But i want to at least hear it from ZOS. I want to hear that they cant make classchanges so i can give up hoping. But as long as we dont know for sure, ill keep hoping and keep making threads and keep annoying them. Until they give us a yes or no. We deserve to know imo, and i dont think they just dont know if they can do it, its been too long now, they have to know if its possible or not. Theyre not the most intelligent (as we all can see), but theyre not that stupid. Noone that can make a game of any kind could be that stupid.

I'm kind of torn on this issue for most of the reasons other people have already given.

On a personal level, I would like my main, a Dunmer MagDK, to be more competitive in the future. I've spent a long time playing and investing in him and I really enjoy the Pyromancer/Fire Mage vibe.

On the otherhand, I would like to change him to a Magblade because I don't really have the time to put in all that effort all over again on a new character.

Tbh, I'm leaning a lot more towards hoping ZOS have something planned for MagDK in the future.
