Conjured/Bound weapons

I've been thinking a lot about conjured/bound weapons in ESO. Will we ever get them? How would they work? Here are some thoughts on how they could be implemented:

SKILL
The first option is to make the bound weapons a skill that we cast. Casting the skill would replace your currently held weapons with a bound version of the same weapon, conferring some sort of buff. Major Sorcery, Minor Berserk, something like that. The skill could be a toggle so we don't have to recast.

TRAIT
Another option is to replace a nearly unused weapon trait like Decisive with a new weapon trait, "Bound". Bound weapons could have a simple DPS bonus (such as critical damage modifier) or do something really cool like restore magicka instead of stamina with heavy attacks.

WEAPON SET
A third option is to release a new trial in some unexplored plane of Oblivion, where the player can acquire Bound weapons as a new special set weapon (like Maelstrom, Master, Asylum).

Any other ideas about how Bound weapons could be introduced into ESO?

First one. Put it in the soul magic tree and it's lore friendly on account of the vestiges daedric origins.

Make it give a sorcery buff and make whatever stam weapon you have deal mag damage light and heavies. With mag restore on it. Base weapon still has to be equipped and stats scale of it. But it makes sustaining and weaving more viable for DW or SB mag users.

Abilities remain Phys damage so they don't kill stam.

I was thinking nor only magic based melee weapons, but also a poison and disease staff.

The conjured melee weapons convert physical damage abilities to magic, and poison staff converts magic damage abilities to physical.

Could open some doors to some strange new builds.

Yes!!!! I would love to have an mag based toon being able to duel wield instead per se having to use a staff.
Bound weapons would instead restore stam, magicka with heavy attacks.

    I want this so badly.

Bound armor basically does this already but without the graphic you know from skyrim. you only have 5 skill slots so why give up another to one more toggle?

Might be better just to ask for a weapon graphic option to have a summoned skin, something you could get in the crown store.

Bound armor use to look like bound armor but people complained.

We've got Morkuldun for the bound weapon. Sorcs essentially have bound armor.

If you mean something that would let a mag user use magical swords instead of staves, then I'd enjoy getting access to that sort of skill tree. It could be really interesting to explore an entire line dedicated to melee mag builds.

    ...we already got them!

    Dragonknights have summoned/bound flame whips!
    Nightblades have summoned/bound blood-red daggers!
    Sorcerors have summoned/bound armor!
Templars have summoned/bound spears of light!
    Fighter Guilders have summoned/bound Dawnbreaker!

Actually, no. Magica melee through summoned/bound weapons makes really little sense...
I mean, for one if you just summon a weapon, -attacking- with it would still be stamina skills, since you'd use your own musclepower to swing it, right? And if you didn't use your musclepower, it would be one of the above mentioned skills, right?

For another, what kinda nerdy robe-clad mage wants to go to knife range with an armed and armored musclehead warrior? When you can sling spells at them from the safety of distance instead?

And thirdly... if you -have- to melee as magica build... Eye of the Storm, Pulsar and some mobility class skill (streak is best)! Burn and dash.

As for weapon choices, I would much rather see additional new skill lines where you -craft- your gear, not in the least for enchantment runes and set item bonus reasons.
Stuff like a hybrid "One-handed and Magic" line, and a "Twin magic" skill line for shorter ranges, two-fisted casting... like I mentioned here: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/371862/additional-weapon-skill-ideas-mk-ii ;)

That would get very confusing, since nearly all the gear in my inventory says 'Bound'

On a serious note. That would be cool idea. Maybe an enchant or like you suggested a trait for a weapon? Something that makes physical weapon scale off magicka, deal magicka damage and restore mag with heavy attacks. That would be soooo incredible.

Buuuuut... it's not gonna happen. All the stam people would cry and shout that why magicka builds are basically getting new weapons to play with and they can't use staves to stab people.

You will sooner see a cloak on your characters back and a spear in their hand before you see this idea happen.
