decent PvE DPS with PvP build?

Would anyone care to share build links or ideas for PvP-oriented builds that are halfway decent for higher end PvE content? (trials/vet DLC dungeons)

Not necessarily with 0 changes or 100% competitiveness, rather builds that wouldn't be a great handicap to either type of group with minimal ability/gear/trait swaps... not sitting on a bunch of inapplicable stuff in either type of content etc.

Thanks

I main one toon. And easiest switch is skills and weopons.

So say sustain set, damage set. Then say a Restro back bar for PvP could become a destro and whack on LL, Blockade, surge.

For full on content I'm doing CP changes.

A class with wards help as you dont need Impen gear then wasted in PvE

Or build your Impen in with CP for easy switching of not I guess

Typed in a rush, hope helps

My Pet Sorc build is most versatile.

Healer one bar Sorc DPS other. Heals vet dungeons and PvP well, but can duel, kill, and DPS when you are queded with light bow spammers

One setup two roles all content

I used to run julianos/riposte/skoria in heavy back when we had more than 2 CP campaigns when farming IC bosses was still possible solo without having 20 other players trying to leech from you. I pulled 19-22k dps depending on the boss (not counting the *** annoying one that keeps teleporting away from you and it's counterpart, the one that spams negates...).

Mag or stam? Class? What kind of pve content and what style of pvp? You can zerg and do most of the PVE content in the same gear. vRoM HM and small scale/bg pvp are a different story. Your best bet is a full damage gear layout, and swapping only CP and skills. Provided you are using the right weapons. If you are doing anything challenging, be a good teamate and just have separate builds.

Either mag or stam. Content difficulty would be like vet/hard on recent DLC dungeons and up. Edit: PvP would be mostly small group.

I understand that it doesn't matter for easier PvE content and that for hard content you shouldn't cripple your team... hence the question :) I figured some of you smart forum fellers knew of some builds that worked surprisingly well for both types of content with minimal changes between modes.

    Thanks

    @Kolache

Magblade. I used merciless, path, wall of fire, cripple, swallow soul, had drain and entropy on and spammed soul harvest on cooldown. Basically a pve rotation but with a heavy armor full impen build (so I could survive boss dmg and potential gankers).

You can fairly easily do both high end pve and be competitive in pvp if you just have a set of gear for each. I know it's probably not exactly what you're looking for, but you can get away without changing CP/skills/stats no issue. It's just that you'll want impen on pvp gear, which is useless in pve where you'll want all divines or sturdy (or whatever tanks use these days).

    My advice:

BG's are no CP. Sotha Sil Cyrodiil is no CP. Play those and have pvp centered build and skills.

Spec all of your CP for pve orientation. When you go and pve... use alpha gear or dressing room and immediately skill/gear swap to pve centric style. CP already specced for PVE.

Plus - the pvp, imho, is just better in no CP.

I've put 2 trough vMA so it's quite viable, if you spec for damage in PvP
    5 Bone Pirate Tatters 5 Hunding's Rage 1 Kena 2H/Bow 1L/5M/1H
    5 Amber Plasm 5 Julianos 1 Kena 5L/1M/1H Destro/Destro

does anyone know how knight slayer set works on a mag dk with a fire mage type of build, I do use a lot of heavy attacks in rotation for sustain reasons

Having one toon and being lazy isn't detrimental to my fun at all because I just swap skills but use same sets, atm it's hundings and viscous Ophidian swapping between impen and devines to suit content but I wouldn't go into vet dungeons really

I use totally different gear, weapons, skill layout, and mundus, between PvP / PvE, and pull about double the DPS with the PvE gear. However, if your objective is to farm bosses in IC, then I recommend just using an Infused weapon with a prismatic enchant. It makes a big difference. Also good against the many vampire players.

On PC, I recommend getting an addon (Dressing Room) that makes swapping gear convenient. I actually use Wykkyd, cause I'm used to it, but it's a bit old and clunky.

Playing only no CP PvP, as suggested by mursie, seems like a good idea unless you want to farm Tel Var. Doing that in no CP is painful. I'd recommend a CP campaign for playing in IC.
