Can We Finally Improve Horse Upgrades?

Specifically the time it takes to upgrade a mount. Many systems have been improved in the game, but this one is still the most discouraging aspect of starting a new character. Taking six months AGAIN to upgrade another mount is tiresome.

Might I make three suggestions:

1.) Make horse upgrades account wide. Once you go through the six month slog, all your mounts have the same speed.

2.) Can horse upgrades to 2,500 gold each and give us 10%/10 inventory slots with each upgrade. Now a new character will at least be fully upgraded in 18 days.

3.) If worried about the time others put in to upgrade mounts, then make the FIRST character take six months and once one character has maxed out the mount upgrades, all further characters get the rate listed in 2 above.

Honestly, the horse upgrades as they are currently are a complete pain. There is PLENTY to keep me logging in daily than having to do horse upgrades. Please ZoS, can you improve this painful system with the next patch.

I doubt you'll see a change because of them having Crown Store items which handle this.

ESO is about paying for faster/convenience with real money now. Whilst they'll make some great QoL changes anything based on a timer/wait/grind is offered slowly for free or fast for money.

I would settle with just a QoL change which lets me upgrade via character select screen each day rather than having to log in to do that one task.

I would be fine even if all they did was to allow us to pay 2500 gold for a 10 slot upgrade with a 10 day cool down. Why can't we pay for 10 days worth of services. I think a stable could be trusted enough for us not to have to check in every day.

This keeps it from being an instant zero to full upgrade but does allow for a 10 slot bump at a time making the upgrade noticeable at time of payment. 1% at a time to hard to see the benefit you get and becomes a frustrating process to keep up.

Rather see fun activities for the daily incentive to log in, such as the Daily Dungeon. I believe the daily stable grind is a turn off for many that try the game. What I propose I think they would find more tolerable.

Is not the CS option a 20hr cool down for 1 slot upgrade that you buy in a ten pack? I only had the riding lessons gained from a crown crate when they were first offered. I used one and saw it still had the 20hr cool down and decided it was not worth getting, traded off the groupings I could while using up the balance.

I saw on PTS that there is no cool down but I figure that is just on PTS for testing convenience.

There is no cool down on using more riding lessons from the Crown Store, it only applies the cool down until you can pay gold again.

If you have a stack of lessons you can spam use and level riding skills to max, this is how it's handled on PTS as they give you free lessons for template characters.

It's slow, but it's manageable.

You only need two of the three stats initially anyway: Speed + Stam for PvP, Speed + Storage for PvE.

You can uptick those as you're doing other stuff your character is going to need for leveling anyway, such as shards, books, rep, and gear.

The only way I'd say 'ok' to the old method is if they limited the number of upgrade slots, letting you have mounts with different combinations, the way you once could.

Then people would complain about having to buy multiple mounts, so it's a no-win situation either way.

And as far as new characters are concerned, there is gear that helps speed up your horse and your character. You can get rapids at L10 just for showing up to the party in Cyrodiil, and you can sprint on foot faster than your horse can sprint initially anyway.

The training system is bs. It takes way too long especially for pvp where having a minimum of 30 or 40 speed is basically mandatory on top of rapids. Or introduce a horse speed bonus with battle spirit if you’re under a certain training level cause frankly it’s jsut stupid.

I don't agree with changing it. There's no need for every stat to be maxed and there's no need to log in each and every day just to do an upgrade, I just fit mine in on my characters when I play them and happen to be near a stable. MMOs should be quick to play and slow to master, with each character's progress made individually. Why should one character be able to ride fast just because another one can do so? It makes no sense.

It is tiresome. But it won't change as long as Zo$ would rather intentionally make something annoying for financial gain.

it makes perfect sense if you consider that they all share the same mounts. why exactly is it that the same mounts I spend 6 month training on one character - are suddenly completely untrained on another?

its frankly a pointless time sink. there is no mastery to paying 250 gold once a day. it doesn't teach you to be a better player in any way. it just trying to lead you to the crown shop to speed up the process (why IS it ok to max out your horse in a single day as long as its crowns you are paying? but not ok while paying gold?)

in another thread it was suggested that gold cost can increase if you don't want to way. if you do wait, its still 250, if you want to speed up the process - it costs more for each subsequent upgrade. at least do that?

right now, being stuck with a slow horse on a new character - discourages me from making new characters and THAT discourages me from buying new character slots. woudln't you want to sell more character slots, ZoS?

Maybe we can talk them into letting us pay 5000 crowns to add 15 points at once. It worked for crafting!
