@zos: please figure out text search for guild traders

This, so very much of this. This has been a problem since launch there are dozens of threads on the forum and its never been addressed by ZOS once. its so very frustrating make me want to just go back to WOW now that they have a new expansion. At least there if I need something from auction house I can just go get it take seconds to find and if its not for sale they have trade chat instead of people just spamming the zone chat with item links.

This is absolutely right. I can take a good explanation as to why this hasn't happened over complete silence on the matter. We feel ignored, period. If there's a reason, I think we all deserve to know. The vast majority of us are paying customers and that warrants at least an explanation of the reasoning behind it.

I'm still finding it hard to believe that the posts about new skins get more views traffic than these posts about basic game functionality that need to occur to make the game playable.

The lack of this feature is one of the biggest reasons I've completely burnt-out on using the guild traders. I would rather just spend the time farming my own stuff than scroll through endless pages of junk I'm not even trying to look for on a broken UI.

If ZOS wants to be proud of their unique, non-AH trading system, it would behoove them to at least add better functionality to the current interface.

I have unfinished motifs because of how exhausting it is to search traders on console. I would rather just go without than search through trader after trader, page after page, looking for the 1 or 2 of a style I may be missing.

I noticed something about this thread that separates it from the rest. Just about everyone here is in agreement. Obviously the exception would be the PC players who for some reason feel they are superior and should stay that way. This is something that the overwhelming majority of us want and we're all baffled that it hasn't happened yet. It should be a pretty big eye opener for ZOS.

This is one of the issues (among many) that recently led me to unsub on console and I no longer play the game. I have to think the lack of a decent search function is intentional because there’s no way it would be hard to implement. Potentially they want to keep players playing longer with increasingly tedious tasks? I imagine the lack of a decent crafting slider has not been implemented for a similar reason. I don’t have a lot of time to play and couldn’t stand playing UI explorer anymore.

I'm on PC but I'm pretty sure I would have quit this game two years ago if I hadn't found awesomeguildstore. The basic interface is severely lacking. When it breaks after a patch I simply don't play until that great guy, that is basicly doing ZOS's work, has time to update it.

There's nothing to "figure out". Free text querying against a database is as old as databases.

You are right it was a poor choice of wording on my part. Perhaps implement would have been the better choice here.

I have to agree wholeheartedly about the migraine. Back when I was starting my motif collecting it would hurt so bad going through all that purple on black text. Either we need much better filters or a simple text search. Even if we had to go to each trader to type it in, it would be better than what we currently have.

I am anti-auction house, but even on that lawn I dont believe there is a single person playing this game that wouldnt agree with the OP. We should have a damn search bar.

Most of my frustration comes from motif searching as well. If anything, let us search motif by type (shield, chest, etc).

Or let us filter by the motif number at the very least. If text search is a no go for some unspoken, nebulous ZOS reason, at least give us better filtering. I mean let us filter by armor set and let us look for items of a certain quantity on up rather than multiple separate quality level searches. Give us something!!

The guild trade system is IMO the worst system in this game. It is frustrating and I try to avoid it as much as possible. In fact I would say it is the worst auction system in any MMO I have played. A rework is badly needed.
