NPC's for Your House

Don't know how often this has come up before, but seems like having a variety of NPC's at your home would add a lot more life to it. ZoS, any possibility that this is a future possibility? :D Would any of you other players like to see this added?

Can I dress them? Can I make them dance? Can I put them in my pillories?
    ...If so, Yes.

    1. I have three NPCs in my home. Banker, Merchant and this little Khajiit.

    2. If Zos where working on something like what OP is speaking of but beyond what I listed above they will not be mentioning it in this thread. Zos will not mention something until they are ready to do so. They learned their lesson when they said they were considering Spellcrafting and Jewelry crafting almost 4 years ago.

Don't forget target dummies and mounts. They're "technically" NPCs too.

Well, the current "NPCs" are more like... static decorations I guess. Current pets and mounts as well.

I kinda wish they would change that, add a whole system to it... instead of counting such as furniture, smaller houses might have one "pet" slot, and the bigger houses should also have "mount" and "servent" slots depending on their size, so you can add a NPC maid (argonians seem traditional for some reason) or butler, a guard, a cook and stable boy perhaps... that sort of thing.

The pets might not be static, but wander around in an adjustable area, and there could even be placable furniture they interact with... a pillow they curl up on for a nap, a bowl they feed from, a toy (like that ball of yarn) they play with, etc.

The mounts might also not be static, but have their own pasture-area to wander, and interactions with stuff like drinking from water-trough, resting in the stable-stall, whatever.

And the servants might come in a wide varietee for hire (basic shapes and combinations from a town agency for gold, and special options in the crown store... so you can hire the normal argonian maid in town, but the extra busty one you gotta pay crowns for... the normal nord guard goes for gold, but if you want to hire the heroic musclebound amazon you pay crowns... etc.) and be fully attire-customizable (crown store costumes? Maybe the outfit system too, though since they are more for civilian clothing stuff, well...) and would wander around the house, possibly customized by "job personalities" - like, fit an NPC with a "cook" personality, they will be busy in the kitchen and occasionally wander to the herb garden, a "maid" might wander around doing cleaning type animations in various rooms, a "guard" might just wander and stand at attention near the entrace, a "stablehand" might shovel hay and other things near placed mounts, a "entertainer" might dance and possibly other things, a "bard" might play songs and take the occasional break to drown a mug for throat-wetting purposes, etc.

It would be a whole new system they could tempt people to sink major amounts of crowns into!

I would spend a lot of money if they would put bards in the crown store for housing.

Fully agree to the above, something like that would for sure be very bad for my crown purse and very good for ZOS' balance sheet :DB)

It would be even better if we could invite all the NPCs that we've adventured with in the past, like Razum-dar, or Eveli Sharp-Arrow and such. Would make owning large homes feel much less empty.

Vampire nobles npc pack in the crown store comes with Vampire npcs that talk and can be used to fight as dummies this acts as a type of collectable as you can collect the npcs 1 of each race and gender separate from the furniture slots

This method could be used for other npc themes for homes such as soldiers from alliances or bandits thieves and assassins from the dark brotherhood and thieves guild as well as notable npcs such as naryu or razum dar

Unless they are bards, I'd love more NPCs for our houses. If they are bards, I'm moving out and living under the bridge in Belkarth  Imagine though if we could choose from existing NPCs for our houses, so that for eg. when you would enter your home you could hear 'These challengers are surprisingly fierce, but here's the real reason you've come today!'

    MOAR JAKARN!

Seriously I need to have him in my home and when I click on him, he says things like, "Hey, good-looking.."

I would love this! Especially if they actually moved around a little, instead of just standing there like the banker, merchant, pets and mounts! It would be really cool if those moved around a little more too. At the moment, they are almost just like part of the furniture.

I want a shrunken down Molag Bal in a servants outfit (dusting apron, etc.) waiting on me hand and foot after that total butt kicking he got at the end of the main story line.

Edited to add that, obviously, I was kidding about Molag Bal, but having NPC's moving around your property would be awesome and add some life to your home. It certainly wouldn't have to be complex. Just do what they do like in every town in every zone.
