Skill points

RumpRoast71
Might be a stupid question. Do you still gain skill points after reaching level 50 or is it only CP? I got my werewolf but don't seem to be getting any skill points to put into. I get cp easily though. And I can't feed after I've killed someone in ww form.

You gain 64 skill points by leveling to 50. You can also gain skill points from quests, finishing group events in public dungeons, ranking up in the alliance war and collecting skyshards. http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Skill_Points#Earning_Skill_Points

You don't get any SP from levels after 50.

You can only gains them from Skyshards, main storyline or zone quests, PvP ranks and Dungeon stories (first clear of a quest).

So I can't get anymore? So when I finish DB and TG, those will only cp. And any other quests like CWC is only going to give cp.

Ironically, if you had done this the other way around, hunting skyshards and doing zone quests, you would be at L50 with tons of skill points. In much the same amount of over all time as getting to L50 and then hunting skill points, probably less come to think of it, as you could avoid the L1 to L50 grind

No, DB and TG also give skill points. There's a list of available skill points here:

    http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Skills#Earning_Skill_Points

In total there's 394 skill points as of patch 3.3.5

There's something like 350 skill points available. (Not at my computer, so I can't get the exact count.)

Ok. That's what I was wondering. I'm on Caldwells silver and doing the DB quests too. I'm at cp 50 but want to level my ww. Thanks

you also gain skill points from PVP. If you go in and "lfg" and roll with a group, you can level fairly quickly and gain about 5 skills points. I was not aware of gaining skill points from pvp and when I did my caltrops grind, I was surprised to see skill points being gained.

Drathus Delenu- Dunmer magDk: Shehai Shatterer, Mageslayer, Stormproof, Peak Scaler, Clockwork Confounder, Orderly, Master Wizard, Cloudrest Hero, Undaunted, Dragonstar Arena Champion
    Thoronir Rolston- Breton petsorc: Stormproof
Zaakazha-Redguard stamblade: Boethia's Scythe, Clockwork Confounder, Maelstrom Arena Champion, Dragonstar Arena Champion

    Scrubs:
    Justinius Maximus Decimus- Altmer magblade
    Agronak gro'Mashul- Orc DK Tank
    Valerya Hawkcroft- Breton healer
    Zaaka- Imperial stamDK/crafter

There have been several threads on what to do as a new player that should have been stickied but were not.

Things I wish I knew from the beginning or as soon as they were implemented:

Feed your horse. Every day. Start with speed, if you PvP switch to stamina after speed is maxed, take your pick. Do this even for your crafting mules.

At level 10, port to Cyrodiil, complete the beginner quest, use your points in rapids. The rapids horse simulator is much more fun than the low-speed horse simulator.

If you concentrate on an armor type, wear at least one piece of the other two armor types with the training trait on them.

Put at least one skill on your primary bar from either the backbar skill line or any other skill line to level that line at the same time as the primary line. Two appears to max the gain.

If you need skill points in a bad way, if: (1) in a guild, randomly port to player of any region you have not been to yet; or (2) talk someone into porting from wayshrine to wayshrine and port to them each change. Takes about 30min if you are diligent. Once done, port to every wayshrine with an overland skyshard nearby and grab it.

Yes, unfortunately you may be effectively compelled to complete content you may not like. For example, for whatever reason they put the shadow rider passive in the Dark Brotherhood line. That passive is unbelievably awesome for getting from point A to point B, and many people don't even realize it exists.

Best place for potion mats is IC. If you don't like PvP, then Hollow City.

I could probably list 50 more, but <shrug>.

Okay, 394 skillpoints total at present.

    64 from leveling 1 - 50
    11 from the main quest.
2 from the Mages Guild quest (If you make the correct choice at the end.)
1 from the Morrowind Tutorial (you do not get this if you skip the tutorial, or if you rolled up a character before you owned Morrowind.)
    50 from PvP
    1 from the Maelstrom Arena
20 from Public Dungeon Group Events
78 from quests (includes DLC quests)
    135 from Skyshards
    32 from Dungeons
