I just wanted to say something nice as there is still a lot of hate and blaming going on.

But I am still enjoying this game. Bugs and all. I admit, I am probably one of the few players that doesn't experience lag much at all(even in Cyrodil). I do experience a longer than preferred loading screen here or there. I enjoy that there is so much for me to do. I've been playing for close to 3 years I think, and I still haven't even finished the Covenant or Ebonheart main quest lines. And I LOVE that. I love the high replayability factor. I love that I can take a break for a few months, come back and there is still tons for me to do and learn about the game.

I'm in a great guild, with really awesome people in it, as quiet as I am. I may be in a minority here, but I really like that I don't have to participate in PVP to really be part of this game. I like the versatility of the classes and what we can do with them.

Despite the gagging price tag (lol), I enjoy the outfit system. I finally bit the bullet and subbed, and oh my god, that craft bag was so worth it. I love my stupid $35 horse that basically farts sparkles as it runs lmao.

I love that when I have a stressful AF day, I can come home, load up ESO, harvest raw mats for a couple hours, make 56k and feel entirely relaxed afterwards. I love that the Group Finder (apparently the bane of a lot of people's existence) helped have some thicker skin and not give a crap if I'm not up to someone else's standards.

I am literally so damn excited for the next chapter, which I really hope is Sommerset. I'm already saving money for all the goodies that will come with that.

And this might get me a lot of hate, I am thankful that the devs haven't become our enemies. I've been part of mmo's before where the player base became so hostile, the devs returned it in full and the game tanked. I understand that coding and software development is not a perfect science, there will be bugs and glitches up the wazoo from time to time and that's okay. This game is still great and I hope to enjoy it for some years to come.

Anyway, that's my saccharine speech. Thank you for an awesome game, I can't wait for more, even though I already have so much to finish already XD

No hate, I love this game as well. I think to often people equate our frustration on the forums as hate for the game. I think it is quite the contrary. If I didn't care I wouldn't voice my concerns, I wouldn't voice anything. I was a big supporter and a huge fan of Destiny, Bungo and Activision destroyed that franchise and I no longer follow it on the forums or social media, it is dead to me. When the forums are dead and there is no one left discussing, [snip], complaining, that is when you get concerned. For the most part people are here to see the game be the best it can be. We don't have much say in most matters so discussion it here and Reddit and other forums are our attempt to relay our message to the people that hold the strings, the developers. My two cents. And I agree with most of what you said. This game is my outlet, which is why I and others are so vocal.

    Finally a happy thread!
I'll say it time and time again. I love ESO. The game has got me through a ton and its still getting me through a heck of a lot. It's my first online game with a community like this. And whilst I know the game has it's moments and it's little hiccups, I appreciate that the team at Zenimax get these things sorted. And then we have all the content they bring to us!
No other game has got me so excited about new chapters and DLCs like ESO has.
Aside from all the whining and the complaining, there are some real gems in this game. In this forum, even. Aside from all the bugs! There's some funny bugs... Or features... Is it a bug or a feature when a piece of rubedite ore starts singing at you?

I love ESO, I'll say it. It's okay for everyone else to say it too.
Thank you for being an awesome member of the community. And happy adventuers to you!

I love this game! Sometimes I get frustrated (see the #fufinn) and impatient, but overall I still adore this game. I wish things did not have to be monetize in such an aggressive manner (see outfitting slots per character), but I am an ES fan, and I can overlook some decisions because I love this game.

Nice threads are far and few in between. Thanks for helping make the forums a little less toxic!

You insensitive clod! Some people do enjoy the game and that they do does not mean they are stupid. Your attempts at making fun of them by creating "positive" threads implying otherwise are very cynical!

Love this post - just got the game last week and I am really enjoying it!

Bugs are a part of software development.

User interfaces are the hardest part of coding.

Thousands of users interacting in unexpected ways communicating over varying speed networks - and they are still able to deliver a great experience! Not easy.

Good stories are hard to write.

Good art is hard to create.

Glad that I live in a time that the people at ZOS and Bethesda can make a living doing what they love and providing entertainment to people who appreciate it.

Thanks to those who spend their time creating ESO for us!

The game is very good. I can say that being one of those people who has played just about every MMO out there. The storylines, the near infinite quests and things to do. It's a tremendous game.

However, the quickest way to learn to dislike a game is by reading what people say about it in the forums and actually taking them seriously. Negative posts always outweigh the positive because people who are having problems will be the ones posting.

The worst thing about ESO is that you can actually be suspended for not knowing something in the release notes. First time I've ever encountered that in a game.

Sure isn't for me. Saw it in EQ, DAoC and LoTR. It's the old "ignorance of the law excuses not". In fact the "I didn't know..." is usually the first line of defense by those who really did know. :)

Maybe have patch notes on launcher that at least have to be clicked past to log into the game. Sure, most folk won't read it but then the "but but but I didn't seeeeee it" can be dismissed. They just chose not to see it.

Coming up to three years in this game and yes I'm still enjoying it. I have my moments where I say "what's the point of this?" and go play something else for a while, but they're few and far between. I restarted on NA recently so I'm currently getting CP by questing, with the ultimate goal of completing VMA with "less lag" (than EU). And, while I couldn't stomach questing again on EU, it's been enough of a break between to actually enjoy it again - and appreciate it more, this time, because I can now see what ties in where. (eg I didn't play TES 3 Morrowind, so I had no idea who Vivec et al were until the Morrowind chapter released.)
Not to mention I have spent months in preparation for completing a goal - which was to get Emperor, and then to Platinum the game. (VMA is a goal I've had since pretty much the beginning.) This is the most time I've ever put into any game... I keep getting emails from Playstation saying "ESO is great, but have you tried these games?

So, yeah. Coding isn't perfect - I think what people forget is that even Windows 95 PC games needed patches. This game has been way more broken for me - for example in mid 2016 when I returned to EU, it was RNG whether I stayed logged in whenever I ported anywhere. Having said that... I do wish there was LESS LAG.

Last paragraph reminded me of when games just didn't have patches. Or if you were very lucky you could pay to have them send a whole slew of floppies with a "patch".

I sure wish they could figure out why some folks are plagued by lag (assuming a reasonable route to servers) and some are not. I very rarely encounter it and when I do, I can find the hop that is causing it (it's always the same one). Has to be so frustrating.

In my case I would say a lot of it is due to Australia's utter [snip] internet... coupled with being half a world away from either server - 14,000+ km to Texas, 16,000+ km to Germany. Our government is in the middle of installing a "national broadband network" but by most accounts it's no better than (and in some cases worse) than the ADSL2+ I am stuck on.

Yeah, that's why I said "assuming a reasonable route...".

I've been on the side of "craptacular connect" more often than not. I'm thrilled that for once I'm pretty much lag-free (except Sunday evenings when everyone in Germany seems use the Net precisely from 1900 to 2300). Pings average 40.

    Bliss.

I feel badly that so many folk are having such a rough time of it.

We all love this game but this doesn't equalls to love developers and their decisions. We are negative because many of us spent like 4 years playing this game and we don't want it to be destroyed by bad decisions, greed and so on. We fight for the ones who like to enjoy this game without being forced to do micropayments everywhere for basic functionalities. We love the game but not all of the devs decisions. Yes we do understand that they need $$ to develop the game but sometimes less is more (lower the prices to sell more).
    Say no to Toxic Casuals!
I am doing my best, but I am not a native speaker, sorry.

"Difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 24 DLCs. 40 game changing updates including A Realm Reborn-tier overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver&Gold as a "you think you do but you don't"-tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game." - @AlexanderDeLarge

The irony of that is, that store is one of the reasons why you still have a game to play. Heh.

And at the same time others want the game to be more RPG than MMORPG. A difficult line for ZoS to follow really, more than in this game than any other MMORPG out there.

Wait until you get it! It's worse AND you can't go back to ADSL...
