CP 720?

Did Zeni rise the (visible) CP cap?
I see lots of players running around with CP 720. It used to be 690. It happened after the last patch.
What is it all about? Anyone knows? Did I miss something?
PC/NA
- Redguard StamBlade dps ["bowtard" crafty girl who likes spinning with daggers too.]
- Breton SorcMag dps [She's got an identity crisis, but I believe in her.]
- Dunmer Templar dps/healer [she's a healer, then again she likes inferno staff too...]
And..
- High Elf SorcMag dps [It's quite possible his daddy was a Nord.]

They usually raise the CP cap with each DLC or chapter. So ,yes 720 is the new cap.

Right! Does it come with extra cp points to distribute in the cp skill lines?

Yes, you can now spend 30 more CP (i.e. 10 in each major constellation).

Now you can't join a trial unless you're 720 CP, being 690 just won't cut it anyway.

Lol I have only 685 on NA and have been a core raid healer on NA since I had 499.

My group was one of the first if not The First to clear Fang (we don't post clears and that because can't be bothered, so not sure- but we had it in one go with only 2 wipes on graveyard pets before we changed strat), and that was within 40 min of NA servers being up. We also cleared scale within the first 2.5 hours of servers up. Our tank had to go to the store!

One dps had like 650ish cp, tank is mid 400cp, I had 675ish and only the other dps was at cap.

Granted I've come back from EU where I have over 1k and I know my business but still.

You're best off avoiding guilds who are that ridiculous.

I am, although I have seen plenty of advertisements asking for 720 CP players only.

That extra 1 or 2% in the dps tree really makes or breaks a trail run you know

Ditto - 8 more cap raises (after 720 gets to console) before I'll run out of points to use.

Only 726 here, leveled up during new life to reach cp 690 from cp 650 something so not much.
First thought then I realized I would reach 720 just with enlightenment was: no more random dungeons :)

To be honest I stopped paying attention to these numbers after I reached 160 cp. I just play adding these points to cp skill lines, depending on the build/class, as advised by people... but meh. I am not even sure if I ever make the real use of those as I am too damn timid to join any serious group activity. I always worry I'll suck.. and when I am under stress my rotation goes out of the window.. so, yeah. I don't care.

The psychological aspect of "flashing" these numbers fascinates me though.

I asked because I wasn't sure whether it was Zeni rising the cap OR it's the result of that bug incident where players were getting the insane amount of xp and levelling up so quickly.

That's total bull, otherwise you found yourself a really stuck up Trial group. I've gone into Vet Trials with CP Players in the low 200s before.

For the most part, every update raises the CP cap by 30 points. The only major exception was when they (thankfully) raised 561 by 39 points to reach a round 600.

The system will eventually have to be reworked in some way, but for now, that's how it is every update.

Every quarter, with each DLC update, the CP cap has been raised by about 30. That's why it went from 690 to 720 recently. When the CP system was first released, the cap was 501.

CP is pretty easy to get right now if you have all gold training gear and experience pots 150% and you grind. You can go from 0-690 CP in 4 days there's a video on YouTube and they guy did a live stream of it as well

I wouldn't recommend that pace. Not healthy at all. And really not doable unless you take vacation from work and have no family.

every DLC raises the CP cap by 30. IIrc it was 540 when I got back into the game, they also adjust the rate new players level, so getting from 50 to 160 is so easy now.
This CP cap changes mets build slightly every patch too

You keep earning CP even once you reach the cap, you just can't use them until the cap goes up. So if you've already got enough to be at/over the new cap you can put the extra 30 points in as soon as you log on after the update.
