Anyone have any ideas of the theme of the next Crown Crate and perhaps date?

Scalecaller seems likely, according to the dataminers.

Psyjic, based on what I saw in the data mine

Scalecaller then psijic. Scalecaller look kind of meh to me honestly. The mount theme is frostbane, just white mounts with fur and stuff on them. Not too shiny. Not sure about psijic though.

It turns out that the ethical considerations don't change over time so yeah, still hating the gambling boxes.

Any idea when they'll change over? I'm hoping the box we get for a leveling reward will be the current ones so I'm holding back several characters who are about to hit those levels. I have all I want out of the Fire crates and want a shot at something different.

It's all right not to like them. You don't even have to like each season equally.

But some people are functioning off the idea that if crates didn't exist, these items would be in the Crown Store for individual sale. The more likely reality is that without the crates, most of these items wouldn't exist and discontinued items simply wouldn't return.

So given the choice between a chance at some bonus items and no bonus items at all, I'd chose the option with more variety.

We've seen the Apex and Radiant mounts for the Scalecaller season, so it's likely to come sooner than anything else (I haven't even seen a Psijic season mentioned in what I've browsed so far). As far as changeover, sometime in March is likely. They've likely extended Flame a few weeks so that people can still choose gem rewards out of the Flame crates awarded from the Leveling Adviser.

Crown crates and micro transactions keep the developers paid so we can get more content. I enjoy the gambling nature of the crown crate seasons. If you don’t like them, don’t buy them. I have a bunch of gems saved up so I can buy motif books and cool skins. Very excited and I hope all you poor sour whiners never get your way regarding crown crates and micro transactions in general.

I can only afford to buy 1 or 2 each season, which is fine cuz I don't care for a lot of flashy mounts, but I really enjoy the free crates we get sometimes.

Most likely they still assume if these items were available for direct purchase they'd be sold for peanuts, as in 2000 crowns or less. Wishful thinking at best. Most items would more than likely be twice that, just look at current pricing like 5000 crowns for research scrolls.

Truth is it really doesn't matter what Zos does, there would still be a disgruntled segment of the playerbase.

I myself despise the gambling boxes but know these mounts would have instead been sold for $50 minimum if it weren't for the gambling. I was expecting to pay more like $100. Instead, I'll pay nothing because gambling is a garbage way to distribute cosmetic items.

In December when I got some Crown crates while on special (I don't believe in CC to be honest), I was rather amazed by how much I ended up with.

Tons of nice goodies, costumes, pets and 2 mounts, with enough gems to get me an Apex when I find something I like.

Not a supporter of the methodology, but compared to other games I have played ESO's is rather equitable.

It's either going to be a Visa or MasterCard Crown Crates. You might also come across an exclusive theme of AmEx Crates

(in all fairness I always spend around £30 on crates when new ones come out - guilty!)

I don't think most of us crown crates haters would expect them to be sold for "peanuts", rather I think most of us believe they would indeed be sold for a premium. The whole Idea of crown crates us disgusting because for people with limited money you have to gamble for what you want. If I want something I would rather be able to buy it for $500 then have to buy a box for $2 that has a .2 % chance of having what I want. I prefer a direct purchase, sure you may get the item in your first $2 box, but it's not guaranteed, and as a poor college student I don't want to take the risk

You hit the nail on the head there! Some of us don't mind spending hard earned real money on buying stuff for our virtual Barbie dolls shooting spells out of a stick, but having it locked behind RNG will put off a lot people. Would you rather spend £15 on a really cool costume or spend £15 knowing you might get it but you will probably get a lot of trash or items you didn't want in the first place.
