Outfit system suggestion - rare and hard to get appearances

Can we have some unique rare outfit gear that can only be unlocked by doing specific tasks inside the game, such as farming a specific area or getting some achievement. Also have the pieces unlocked one by one and not all the set with a motif?
I was thinking about a system similar to the one in World of Warcraft because the one we have in ESO now doesn't need much effort and gets exhausted really fast.

The actual request was more along the lines of allowing “all armor and gear” artwork to be copied or applied to other armor and gear.

So more like WoW’s transmogrification but we didn’t get that at all. Seems a big miss as what was added instead was a way to use crafted gear artwork ....

Which is kinda not at all the request.

I'd rather have the system RIFT uses. Any piece of gear can be slotted into the respective appearance slot and a "copy" of it is made that can be worked with or dyed. There are even multiple wardrobe pages saveable.

To get the look I had, I had to farm PVP wins until I had the full grandmaster set and then made appearance copies of it to use for PVE raiding. This and the LOTRO system are similar and prevent needing to permanently modify existing gear since the appearances are separate while still allowing for unique transmogs to be less common. There was only one sword in the game that had the appearance I used and I made sure to farm for it.

You mean, a look you can only get by farming chests on Vvardenfell for the next 20 years?

Or one you can only get from pickpocketing characters on Vvardenfell, and hoovering up lockboxes and thieves' caches on the island?

Maybe one you can only get from grinding bosses on The Gold Coast?

Or one you can only get in Cyrodiil to reflect your alliance?

Well, good news, there's actually three different ones you can get from pickpocket and murder on Vvardenfell.

So I have elder scrolls on both Xbox one and PC.
PC version has updated. While I like parts of the new outfit crafting, I don’t like the you have to pay to dye outfits.
I feel that since we have to earn the colors we should be able to color outfits for free. I would be ok with paying if it only charged us for colors we haven’t earned yet.

yes, more of that, more stuff that's hard to get outside motifs. Some that would have a 0.1% drop rate from raids would be nice too.

I think If you deconstruct an item, you must learn /unlock this skin in your wardrobe, like gw2 when you use an item and bound it to your char/account, you are able to use the skin on all chars

I would not be the least bit surprised to see ZOS do exactly this in releasing new outfit styles like the Prisoner's Rags style in the level up advisor either instead of or in addition to new motifs.

Isn't that exactly how a lot of the rare motifs work already? You have to do specific dungeons or faction quests/achievements to get them. Others can be looted but only in specific places, and others are purchased with alliance points, tel var stones or writ vouchers.

Or do you want to remove the motif step, so they can't be sold and instead unlock automatically?

I have to admit I would have preferred a system like GW2 has where you have to obtain an item with that skin to unlock it - so for example if you want dungeon armour you have to run the dungeon to get the armour set, then you can add it to your wardrobe and apply that skin to other armour. But allowing for the limitations already in place I think this is a good system.

i preferred working for 1 item at the time instead of looking for motifs and with each of them unlocking entire sets at the time, it somehow isn't as satisfactory and won't be long until you can get all of them. That's why i suggested an introduction for rare outfit piece drops(0,1%) from hard to beat content
