That used to be something that was standard practice in PvE. Now days it's all "Stand in the fire and punch them in the face. If you die before they do, then you didn't punch hard enough."

Why would people want annoying mechanics over stack and burn. I guess those who suck at doing rotation like a robot and claim they can be good at something harder, or the super elite who just want to fu-ck over 99% of the players.
In World of Warcraft, we called that "Pillar humping". Druids were especially good at it.

Because back in the early days overland content was actually HARD, taking on more than 3 enemies at a time was often a death sentence. It taught you quickly how to survive. Now its a complete joke and not even worth the time of playing. This is why 90% of my time is now spent in vet DLC dungeons and trials, its the only place where standard mobs cant be facerolled anymore.
