Bug: Items missing from storage containers

Title says it all. I bought 60 slot storage container from Imperial City. Then I wanted to free up some slots from my bank and decided to put almost all of my Asylum and Maelstrom weapons in the container. And next time when I went to the storage container. It doesn't show a single weapon of mine in there. I can see my weapons and items with Inventory Insight mod, and it shows that they should be in the container. But they just aren't there when I access the container.

One thing to try, disable all addons and see you can view the contents again directly. Some updates make it so some mods hide stuff in containers.

I tried without any mods active but still doesn't work. Storage container shows that those items are not it. It was almost full when I put my items in there, but now it's 7/60.

There is / was a bug where bound items disappeared if a character was deleted.

I deleted one character after the latest patch but it had nothing to do with the items that I lost. I put the items in the container with completely different character. I also tried to retrieve the items with the character that I used to storage the items, but didn't help.

Apparently anyone that deleted any character since the patch is having this issue. It didnt have to be the character that put it in. It really sucks. Hope you get your weapons back and that they can sort you out.

Yes I agree and hope that they will fix this as soon as possible. Many of my characters are without weapon now because of this. And I'm not interested in farming Asylum and Maelstrom weapons all over again because of this bug.

I agree with that too. Bugs like these are game breaking and should never see a daylight. Especially if it was known already on PTS. I'm kinda disappointed to ZOS at this. I just hope that everyone gets their lost items back.

Please access the following page and use F12 (in most browsers) to search for the words "Character Bound" -- without the quotation marks:

PC/Mac Patch Notes v3.3.5 Dragon Bones Update 17

• Items that are bound to your current character are now referred to as "Character Bound" in the tooltip. All functionality remains the same.

If I recall correctly, then Monster armor pieces are bound to the specific character which looted them. Some specific weapons are also bound to the character which looted them. Some jewelry and/or some accessories might also be "Character Bound" (if not now, perhaps in the future).

Before Update 17, at least, it was possible for a "Character Bound" item to be in the Bags of a character to which the item was not bound (such as a "mule toon"). The binding restriction simply prevented the character from equipping the item. After reading the Patch Note, it is unclear whether such an item can now be withdrawn from the Bank or other storage by another character to which the item is not bound.

So, be aware of whether items that you are storing anywhere are bound to a specific character, and beware of deleting that character unless you are willing to delete those items from the game, too.
