I just spent the last couple of months with a problem where ESO would crash my PC and cause it to do a hard reboot, even though I have turned off the "restart in case of" feature. This crash would be caused by a variety of things - switching between characters being the biggest, but sometimes using a wayshrine or even just logging in a particular character (was different ones at different times).
I did everything that I found through my research.
I switched to Windowed from Full Screen.
I pointed my start icon to ESO64.exe and set it to Run As Administrator.
I reduced my graphics settings to High instead of Ultra (where Ultra was set by my GPU utility and not by me).
I removed all of my add-ons.
I ran error detection on ESO from the launcher.
I uninstalled and reinstalled ESO.
It seemed this last one did the trick. Took about 12 hours, but I was able to change characters and use a wayshrine without crashing my system (which is a fairly robust system, BTW - GeForce GTX 970, 16GB RAM, etc etc). I was even able to reinstalled two of my add-ons (pChat and Clock, which should both be in the game anyway. Who the hell wants to talk to
@Suilebhain when they are talking to my character? And it helps to know what the time is IRL).
All was well until YESTERDAY when I downloaded the new client patch.
Back to Square One.
Zenimax, fix your damned game. Until then, not one red cent for Tamriel Plus from me.
