Actually, whatever fixed it for you just broke it for us. While in game, it kicked people to login and now it's coming up Connection timed out to the server.
This is still broken on NA. Those with pre-Steam versions can bypass the problem by using the old launcher directly.
PC NA, PC EU
"Instead of taking the best of the dolmens (predictable rotation), the best of the geysers (scalability based on number of players), and the best of the dragons (map location and health indicators) and adding them together to make a fun and dynamic world event scenario, they gave us....... harrowstorms." https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/comment/6850523/#Comment_6850523

Not so, I have the Steam version and I can bypass the problem by using the bethesda launcher in the launcher folder or by launching eso64.exe directly. They updated it in September, but if you're running the old version of the game and patched up to that point you have to do a reinstall.
If the version is not "1380321," or greater you will need to delete and reinstall the game first.
If the version is "1380321," or greater you can skip down to the "Link your ESO and Steam accounts in game" step below.
If you do not have the right version of ESO installed on Steam, you will need to delete and reinstall it.
Once you have the correct version of Steam, you can then link your Steam account to your ESO account.
Your Steam account will now be linked with your ESO account! You can now log into the game and play by simply launching the game from your Steam Library. Note: only one ESO account can be linked to a Steam account.
This entire process also give the user the ability to create a new Zenimax account or link an existing account. This means that Steam users CAN have a Zenimax username and password. I simply launched the game without Steam using the direct exe and I could log in using my created username and password that I linked to the account.
In short, I bought the game through Steam and only ever played it through Steam until recently, yet now have the ability to play without the Steam launcher using the linked username and password information as my login info.
I can play on the EU server, but not the NA server on Steam.
Luckily I had a baby level 3 warden on EU that I could play. He's now level 10 and just got the free brown horse, since I'd never bought it before on that server.
All my mains are on NA, though.
