Rip off in the Survey Maps... ?

So,,, you go to get a map, get aggro from welva, have to fight them off.. and in the process accidentally leave the area of the survey map. When you return, your loots are gone. So wrong. I posted in the help/feedback about this at least a year ago. I thought they fixed it. I guess not.

Kill the Wewlas before you pull the first Node. If you take one and leave the cell boundary, it can reset the Survey. Unfortunately, the cell boundary can be only meters away. Anyway, if no nodes are harvested the Survey stays up. If you pull one, the survey can reset if you go too far away.

This was done to combat the Survey Dup Exploit that was discovered when the Banking Assistant was launched.

I'm still here wondering why you bothered moving at all to fight some of the least threatening mobs around craglorn

Kill the beasts in the area. At the very least keep an eye out on their movement and merely step aside if they get near agro range.

I always kill stuff before gathering. Takes about 5 seconds. with your surveys, you don't need to worry about anyone else "stealing" your nodes as they are only visible to you. Also helps to have "Master Gatherer" passive so it doesn't take forever to harvest and "Plentiful Harvest" so you can get 2X the drop sometimes.

BTW, there is a Clothier Survey near the middle of the map that has a Goblin that is not always seen (he hides under a tree) so look for him and take him out too. It should only be the one so not too much trouble.

I had not pulled any nodes yet.

Those are the creatures that fall over if you just look at them wrong. Come on just fight them in place.

    which area is this?

i have never encountered a situation with a survey in craglorn where i had to kill trash mobs to get the spawns.

I thought they fixed the issue that caused the nodes to vanish of you left the area without picking any up.
Another tip is to not go harvesting the survey maps if queued for group finder.....

I suspect you are either at Clothier Survey No 2 or Enchanter Survey 3 - they are the only ones I can think of with Welwas nearby and I have never HAD to fight them to harvest the nodes.

I said I accidentally pulled aggro, didn't know I was being followed... when I got there, had to fight them off. That's how that happened.

If that were the case you would have returned with your survey still available. The only time they disappear is after you've taken one from the set and then moved away - otherwise it's still in your inventory and available for use.

Thanks. I guess I must have clicked one and didn't realize it then.
