Max character Slots (console and PC differences?)

I have been searching the forum and the internet to see the max character slots PS4/XB1 players can have. I know that PC players can now have 15 after this update. So how many can console players have? Is it the same or less?

At the moment console players can have a max of 14 but when the update comes they will also be able to purchase the 15th slot the same as PC

Sources I have seen it keeps getting mentioned it is 8 on console, but then an extra 4 can be bought from the crown store, totalling 12. PC can have 8 , but 7 from crown store, (1 extra from crown store after this update) totalling 15.
Are you sure that console payers can have the same amount as PC players?
I can't find an official statement on it, so that is why i am asking here.

Everything about the game is the same on both platforms except for maintenance days and DLC/Chapter release schedules.

And UI, and lag, and visuals, and loading NPCs and textures, and the ability to do basic things like swapping weapons without issues....lol
I'm sure you are correct though, I just remember someone saying it was 12 max chars in game, on PS4.
Maybe I can check the in game crown store after maintenance.

Old sources.

All platforms have 8 character slots by default and can buy 6 more. With the new update, PC received one more slot for a total of 15. Consoles will receive it later.

Console always gets updates about 2 weeks after they are released on PC. The game has 8 character slots by default. Before Morrowind you could buy up to 4, then 2 more purchasable ones were added so people could make Warden characters without needing to delete old ones. With Dragon Bones they will add one more, so people can level a new character and take advantage of the leveling rewards without deleting any of their existing characters. So on Xbox and PS4 there are currently 14, and on PC there are 15 available in total.
