Should BGs have ranking system?

Since there are new players, experienced players and really hardcore players it should have a ranking system to make it more balanced.

Do you mean separating the good players from the bad players?

Or do you mean having a more meaningful ranking system than the “who played the most” thing we currently have?

I've been wanting this for years. Doubtful that it will ever happen though

There should definitely be a mass record of stats. One reason for ego and another to know what kind of players you are facing (straight killers, objective players, etc.).

Absolutely NOT!! How would that even work or be fair with the current system? You got most people entering a BG que solo, matched up with strangers and play super disorganized fighting against a 4 man premade. Also there is a HUGE diversity of players entering 1 que. You have people who are new to the game going up against veterans who have mastered their class and have gold and kuta everything. So no, until ZOS puts more effort into BGs i think a ranking system would be completely pointless.

What would work however is a system similar to Guild Wars 2, where you get a PvP BG rank based on games played only. Would not be a leaderboard. This would have to be seperate from the Alliance rank for obvious reasons *cough* zerging *cough* They make que system for solo ques only and group them into a 4 man, and a que system for pre made groups and it would be far more fair.

It was cool in destiny to see people k/d ratio and other stats.

I agree with Hesobad. I also don't think we have the player numbers queuing for battlegrounds to get games quickly if you uses some kind of ranking system. The higher and lower ranks might just get matched up just so that there is a match.

Very few games get a rank/mmr system correct, which leads to people matching up against players they’re worlds ahead of as if they’re smurfing.

Wouldn't that warrant a ranking system more? You seperate those who want to go into battlegrounds casually solo or group with the try hards/good players that are solo/in a group

Or you can prevent smurfing by having account wide MMR

And you'll see k/d leaderboard completely capped by sorc while magdk will be at the bottom of the food chain just because of lack of execute
