This is not about pay to play (ESO is from the very start pay to play, you have to buy the game), I am fine with that and willing to spend money, if the price is acceptable and reasonable from my point of view. ESO+ for example has value and I am used to pay a subscription fee and with it comes some new stuff on a regular base for free. I have absolutely no problem with ESO+ or with reasonably priced costumes - I have a huge amount of them actually and am enjoying them, especially because I can dye them for free with ESO+.

So far so good, but then ZOS is always doing something, what is really pissing me off, because it is so blantantly greedy, that I can just shake my head and cannot hold back and have to complain about it, even I know, they will not listen at all and just do their thing. I do my thing, I complain and point it out. And eventually one or the other will share my opinion and refrain from buying this overpriced stuff or buy less of it. I don't say, don't do it, and sometimes opinions can change about items and their price - but I have to point out, when their pricing is unreasonable or the product underwhelming in relation to the price which ZOS is charging for it (hero costumes as an example). There should be some ethics in doing business, in the old world this is still the case, but it seems to have never been the case in the new world - ZOS can do that, but they shouldn't, if they would have some character and morals - but all what counts for them is money, greed is their very god - disgusting, really.

I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver&Gold as a "you think you do but you don't"-tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game." - @AlexanderDeLarge

Basic gist of what I read is: Don't complain because ZOS has the real data and price things according to what that data says people are willing to pay.

Here's the thing tho - what the data shows and what's reality can be 2 very different things. A extremely recent, relevant example is EA and Star Wars BattleFront 2.

EA had the data and numbers from their other games as to how much people would be willing to spend, and how much people would be willing to accept lootbox's in their games... so combined both factors into SWB2 - added in lootboxes into the game, tied game progression to it (with the caveat you didn't "need" to pay real $ for it, just play more), and priced at a point their data showed ppl would be willing to pay for.

Guess how well that went down with their customers? Hint: it went so bad they had to pull them entirely from the game, EA's stock suffered a small downturn from all the bad media press, and it's caused several US States & various countries around the world into looking into legislating regarding lootbox gambling in video games.

So no, just because a company is the 'only' ones with the data behind the scene's... doesn't mean people can't comment on things, can't complain about things they don't like, nor does it mean that the company will make actually good/decent decisions with said data.

Final point - upping prices in things like crown store can mean 1 of 3 things in reality (or a combination of 2 out of 3):

1 - that people are willing to pay that and so justifies the price increase.
2 - due to inflation caused by crown sales there's a glut of unspent crowns.
3 - fewer people are actually buying crowns and buying crown stores, so to 'milk' the fewer who are buying they increase the price (rather than lowering it and trying to attract ppl back).

Personally, based on looking at the financial history of many other B2P & F2P games, I would say it's a combination of 2 & 3. Glut of unspent crowns due to sales & sub's, with fewer and fewer people actually buying. If you look at most other B2P/F2P games they see a constant downtrend in revenue, with upward spikes when new content is released or something else special happens, and I'd guarantee you ESO is no different - and rather than try to bring players back and/or attract players to go back to buying crowns... they are upping the cost's to milk those still buying (till they have enough and stop).

I love when people post essays with gifs and memes and expect to be taken seriously.

The icing on the cake is when the OP gets butthurt and has to shout at someone else that they're in medical school to try to make others feel inferior.

But people complaining about and to ZoS are the issue. lol.

OP, if you dislike these forums so much, feel free to stop by Daybreak's forums. Any criticism of them is met with a permanent forum ban. You'd get along quite well there.

My next move? To continue to test the content that ZoS asks us to test because they can't be bothered to have a QA department worth their salt (and the money we pay them) and continue to tell them when they are ****ing up. Considering dropping my sub too, since the value of ESO has dropped dramatically over the past year.

By the way, I don't recall seeing your name on the PTS forums. Curious thing, considering a lot of bugs reported on the PTS forum made it to the live version of this game and ZoS didn't bother to fix them but somehow the complainers are the problem.

And no, OP, I didn't spend a dime of my real money or a single gold on this ridiculous rip off of an outfit system and I won't be in the future.

"Stop expressing your opinion and accept that you are powerless. Buy whatever they are selling because someone else will anyway... or leave"

ZOS might have the data, but that doesn't mean we can trust that they interpret it right. Example: "Home storage never was a priority because over 90% of the player base hadn't even upgraded they bankspace to its max."

If players observe phenomena that seem to disagree with the supposed data that ZOS has, then gather their annecdotal evidence in the forum, we get a good indication of what the proper data might be looking like. Of course this is not 100% accurate but often enough to matter. 1500 crowns for a single outfit slot on only one character is not justifiable in my opinion. At that point I am thankful that I got one for free on each character so I don't even need it, thus I won't buy it on these conditions.

    @Ratzkifal

I have power because I am a consumer. Just because you have accepted a long time ago that YOU don't have any power does not mean that I do not. I appreciate your viewpoint but you are the example of people that come onto the forums and STATE that they will only use one outfit slot...but then end up buying 5 more. The only people that will know the truth is YOU and ZOS.

No one is going anywhere so chill the **** out thanks.

Lol as if. So far I haven't broken any promise about not buying X and I don't see how that would come about either, unless they changed the prices. Mind you, I am not one of these people saying that "the game is dead when X goes live" or "I am going to quit until Y is fixed".
Just as an example where complaining worked for the better. Battlegrounds finally are back to noCP and they feel so alive again. There was a premade group of 4 who clearly knew how coordinate and win a match. While they did win, they died plenty and their lead wasn't nearly as strong as it was standard on CP. It was a genuinely fun to play and we only have that back after we told ZOS their data suggesting that CP will be more popular is wrong for BG and damaging the core idea.
This Bosmer was tortured to death. There is nothing left to be done.

Ill accept any like, insightfuls or awesomes as well.

And this here was the point of this wannabe-pretentious, pointless, strangely contradictory gif-poisoned forum post.

Nothing to see here people, just another forum farmer.
