Good job ZOS, I love the DLC

With all the threads complaining about the cosmetic appearance of housing storage, inevitable new bugs, and the cost of the outfit system, I wanted to take a moment to thank ZOS for the update. Sure, there are a few issues, but overall this DLC is great, it gave us 2 new DLC dungeons that I am enjoying...the ability to have my toon look like I want, and housing storage. I just don't see much any reason to complain and honestly it kinda disgusts me that the majority of community is unable to recognize the QOL improvements this patch brings. Feel free to suggest changes to ZOS, but realize we are better off post-patch than pre-patch.

I am happy for you enjoying it, but I am not interested in dungeon DLCs - so for me this is kinda worthless, a wasted opportunity to get some decent region DLC of the normal kind. The promise was "all of Tamriel" - and as long as there is so much missing from "all of Tamriel", I give a damn about dungeon DLCs. Who knows if we will ever get a region DLC again, as they might just put it into a chapter and charge us again for what should be free content for ESO+ subscribers.

From how 2017 went I think it's pretty clear big regions will be Chapters now and smaller zones will be the DLC. Last year we got two new areas to the world and dungeons which visit another which isn't entirely accessible.

Dungeon content sells well as there are a lot of people who do both PvE dungeons and want new battlegrounds maps, so expect more like these.

I don't do dungeons either but it's nice that content got added for those who do.

MMOs evolve and content isn't always equally added across the board.

Great post. They deserve some love. I've always wanted to make use of some of the great looking motifs. And now I can, I look awesome. Love the storage chests. I think they look great. I've only done Scale Caller so far and love it. Great DLC all around. Thank you.

to me new region dlc's are pointless, there are zones enough to explore and farm till oblivion but not enough DLC dungeons. I've been waiting in vain at morrowind release for new veteran dungeons (not trial) and this I'm finally really happy with this one and especially the fact that they are nicecly done ! Hotr and this are the best expansions for me so as you see we each have our own whishes...;)

Yeah, that is ok, I am happy that you can enjoy it - but at the same time it is sad, that it will take an eternity to ever see "all of Tamriel" and I guess it will never be completed before the game servers will shut down for good some day. Every missed opportunity to add more of Tamriel is making it more and more certain, that the promise of "all of Tamriel" will never come true.

Yeah, but where ZOS is really good at is creating aww-inspiring regions, which are so breath-takingly beautiful sometimes, that i forget what I wanted to do and just walk around and look at it, enjoy the atmosphere of it - well, until I will be disconnected and pulled out of immersion like 3-4 times per hour. This is somewhat ruining the experience unfortunately.

Considering we can access most of Tamriel already and Somerset Isles coming out next chapter, I don't see how you can say never. On that note...overland content does not hold much appeal past playing through the quests once...overland is just too easy, and trials are just too meta....which is why I like my small-group difficult content best. I wouldn't mind overland if they added an optional "vet" difficulty to it.

Agree with you OP. Some people complain for the sake of complaining.

I can just hear someone in the coffee shop complaining to their friend about having to move and all the hassles when it comes to moving. The friend asks then why move? The complainer says because we won 10 million dollars in the lottery so we are moving to Maui ..what a nightmare !!

I am complaining about too less DLCs with Tamriel provinces - the map of Tamriel is far from being done yet and with just about 1 or 2 pieces of land added each year it will most likely never be completed - that is my concern. i was away for over a year from ESO -and not much was added province-wise to the game since then in form of a DLC. Morrowind is great, but it is content we had to buy extra, not a DLC which would be accessible with the ESO+ membership.

Looks like the new model is new lands to explore every 6 months. A small chunk as the 4th DLC (free for ESO+), and a large chunk via paid chapters. And I'm fine with large chunks only happening in chapters from now on if it's not viable to keep them "free" like Wrothgar was. I'd rather not see them all end up small like the TG and DB DLC was, so I'm happy to pay a bit more each year.

Also, even though I don't have any interest in dungeons either it's still important for the health of the game. A lot of the hardcore community evangelists need dungeons to stay active and keep spreading the word about how good the game is. We don't want to lose them. We also don't want to lose the core PVP crowd, so where's that Cyrodiil-focused DLC Zeni?

I don't care about the crown store...the only time I buy anything from the place is with my subscription crowns, I certainly dont spend real money there(yes, I am aware the subscription is real money, but I pay the subscription for the DLC they are continually adding, the crowns are just a perk). As for the costume system, realistically speaking, "most" people will make one outfit per toon and never change them once they get the look they desire. I know I sure wont be changing outfits every 5 minutes, I have no intention of using more than one outfit per toon...I would rather spend the time playing. As for performance issue...the only time I ever run into any issues to speak of is in Cyrodiil, and while I would certainly like some improvement there, I suspect that is more than just writing a patch for the code, and even with the endless Cyrodiil load screens and lag issues for large battles, it doesn't stop me(or you I suspect) from playing there. Answer this question...are you better or worse off after this patch? The DLC patches are what I pay my subscription for....I doubt I would sub if I never got new content, just(marginally) improved performance.

I've highlighted the parts I disagree with. Bugs aren't inevitable, you can choose to not release content until it runs properly, instead of having to resort to day one hotfixes, although bugs are unfortunately an inevitable part of the ESO experience. They consistently break major game mechanics with every update in new, fun and exciting ways, and we players then have to maneuver through this bug-ridden minefield, and somehow still justify to ourselves that paying for content like that is a good thing.

That you "don't see a reason to complain" means you are ignoring the blatantly obvious problems. Don't get me wrong I would praise ZOS to the heavens if they actually could for once deliver a good bug-free experience, but they haven't been able to deliver on that front, and I think it's important to let them know that this isn't okay.

When you ignore the problems, you are basically just enabling them to go on with this way of making updates for the game, which I find to be quite offensive to their players, who invest time and money into it.

We might well be better off post-patch, but the comparison is like saying a slightly rotten apple is better than a totally rotten apple, while it's true, it's still a bad comparison, as you are not taking the ideal situation into account, but instead finding that it's okay to eat partly rotten apples as opposed to fresh ones. Perhaps it's a bad analogy, but basically you should strive for ZOS to make the best game they possibly can, not just settle with what you are given and then defend it no matter what to justify your own time and money investments into the game.

Fanboying to the extent where you will permit shameful behaviour like this is worse than the threads that are "whining and complaining" about everything.

I think they must be in an echo-chamber, but the only words that reach their ears are the ones of praise. I honestly wouldn't mind if they took their time to fix the game-breaking bugs before releasing content. I mean ffs, they had to hotfix something day 1, despite the DLC being on the PTS for over a month. Not to mention they managed to bring back bugs that they already fixed, like WW form breaking when hit with certain skills, getting stuck in ridiculously long loadscreens in BGs after dying, and so on. It's frustrating being a player of this game, which so clearly doesn't properly QA their content for release, and consistently break the game with every update.
