Alpha Gear or Dressing Room

I've been using Wykkyd's Outfitter for years. It is pretty much non functional with this patch, and I've got no hopes that it will get updated. So it's time to jump ship.

If anyone has tried both Alpha Gear and Dressing Room, which do you prefer and why? If anyone moved from Wykkyd's to either of these, what was your experience?

I have used all 3 add-ons you are referencing.

I am using alpha gear now because it has more functionality for those that do pvp/PvE and do multiple roles on the same character. In essence, alpha gear does everything dressing room does and then some more. For instance, it charges your weapons in the middle of a battle and has a nice visual for monitoring durability of armor.

I like Alpha Gear and the auto charge etc. However I can't get the indicator to turn off if I am auto recharging weapons so that bugs me. Not a deal breaker, but something I wish I could fix. Alpha does have a learning curve figuring out how to do things, but does work well.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Since the patch; I've had dressing room randomly put warden skills on my Templar and my NBs saved slots. Weird.

I'm curious about the others but Dressing Room has served its purpose fine for me so far outside that weird issue.

When it became clear that Wykkyds Outfitter and Macros were no longer stable and working for me a few weeks back, I looked at and tried both Iakoni's and Alpha Gear 2.

Both are solid replacements, although for switching BOTH gears and skills on the fly I prefer Alpha Gear 2's interface and ease of use. I just wish that Alpha Gear had an option like Wykkyd's to lable to gear and skill sets separately before they are placed into a combined gear\skill set combination - would make it easier to construct my combos.

I've personally experienced no problems with Alpha Gear 2 since the patch - seems to be working fine for me.

Oh, good, it's not just me and I'm not going crazy. Resetting the bars is a little bit of a hassle, but yeah, it's still pretty solid.

Ive had the same issue, which is upsetting cause I love dressing room.

Hmm, I notice that Alpha Gear hasn't been updated for this patch. Is it problematic for anyone, or is it working ok despite the skill ID changes?

I appreciate the suggestions for Iakoni’s and Kyoma's, but I'm looking for something widely adopted and established, so I have at least some level of confidence that it will be updated. Either by the author, or picked up by someone else in the community.

It's such a hassle to migrate all my gear and skill sets for 10 active characters, I don't want to roll the dice on the longevity of a lesser known addon for handling them.
