1) The simple solution was a roll back to the update. That would have been quick and easy but ZOS is stupid so they won't do that. Just like they have a thing against banning players they have a thing against roll backs.
2) They will pretend to address this. Maybe they will find the top 100 xp gainers and give them a 3 day ban or something. They will not really address it though because a "case by case" would be a crazy high and idiotic use of resources. Most will keep their xp gains. Probably even those that get a slap on the wrist will keep the xp gain.
3) They don't really hand out or even catch guys who run 3rd party cheat software I really doubt this is going to be a priority. Given there is a level cap it is certainly much less disruptive than cheat engine.
4) I totally laughed my ass off when I read about this especially since they basically sent a bunch of folks into IC (a basically deserted place) with their new coffers at the same time they screwed up the XP. I expect they were using these mad xp mobs to test their leveling reward system and forgot to put it back. Easily remedied with a roll back.... but of course not.
5) For what it is worth I would have exploited the you know what out of it if I had come across it for the simple reason ZOS history would lead me to believe that I would not be punished and that I would get to keep the gains. I also hate grinding and though I have far over cap CP I do have 3 unleveled toons that I would like to play but have not interest in actually leveling.

Again, if you just came across the exploit and didn't abuse it, you have nothing to fear. Let ZOS do their job. Trust the process. It's worked for you so far, as you are still playing the game and haven't been banned for any of the numerous other exploits that have been discovered.

I read them. Its great fun to post the sections of the TOS and the Code of Conduct when people are like "Well, how could I possibly have know how to react when I saw this bug?!"
Ignorance is not bliss when it comes to breaking the TOS of a video game.

Even if one actually has the time and patience to read through the entire thing to the bottom, how many people are actually going to remember every little thing in that huge document of legal mumbo jumbo? Of course, simple common sense would dictate that taking advantage of what is clearly a bug in the game. to gain some disproportionate and unfair advantage is clearly no good.
Am I the only one who reads the TOS each day before logging into the game?
And also the only one who reads the driving laws manual before getting into the car each day?

This will be easily identifiable by a simple search on ZOS part. Honest people will have stopped within minutes of entering, while a dishonest person would've spent much longer.f047ys3v3n wrote: »2) They will pretend to address this. Nowhere in those communications did @ZOS_GinaBruno say how they would be auditing, what the definition of "exploiting" was, and how it would be "handled". Just because they said its on a "case-by-case" basis isn't reason enough to believe that everything is going to be fair and impartial.
You're making quite a big leap here by saying that there's nothing to fear. There's far too many questions, and frankly I've seen how ZOS has handled things in the past 4 years. There's lots of things to be worried about.
Worrying isn't going to do anyone any good.
