Storage chest types

Hmm, what is the difference between the storage chests? All listed as 60 slots - Fortified, oaken, secure and sturdy - but in preview they all look the same. What gives?

I recommend reading the patch notes about this feature, it's explained there in detail.

Short version: You can own one of each. Some are 60 slots and some are 30. You get a grand total of 360 storage slots once you have all 8 chests. (Only 7 chests can be purchased for Crowns as the 8th is awarded for free from the new level up rewards system)

Good point, thanks for the help.

For anyone else wondering - "All four coffers share the same visual appearance, but each has a unique name and can be nicknamed for easy organization. Chests work the same way, with their own shared appearance."

seems pretty dumb to have them all look exactly the same... the least they could've done is make each one look slightly different to give a bit of variety. Or they could've made 1 chest and 1 coffer and just make them purchasable multiple times, what's the point in having basically the same item listed multiple times in the crown store???

Because they're actually distinct.

There's 8 containers total. A Sturdy, Oaken, Fortified, and Secure version of both.

So, each coffer is a distinct container with 30 inventory slots. If you have a Sturdy and a Fortified coffer that's sixty slots in your home (and any other home you place them in.) You can't place more than one of each per home, and their inventory slots are shared with duplicate copies. So, each of your Sturdy Coffers has the same inventory, regardless of which home you're in. Each of your Fortified Coffers has the same items, but they're not the same as your Sturdy Coffers.

So, each chest has 60 slots, for a total of 240 slots between them, and each coffer has 30 slots, for a total of 120. They're visually uniform so you can stick them in the same room and make a storage bank (if you want), I assume.

They may look the same, but they're actually distinct items. They're also collectables, meaning each of your houses can hold one of each (though, the free apartments only have two slots open for the containers.)

.wouldn’t have made more sense just to add storage to the menu as it doesn’t seem the chest makes much sense at all in the larger feature
