Crown prices are:

2K for a single large you can buy 4
1K for a single small you can buy 3

11K for all

quick question if anyone might know the answer - so, the coffers cost 1k a piece...

i'm wondering if it would just be cheaper to buy 4 coffers at 1k each or buy an extra character slot at whatever the crown cost is (1.5k I think) and just level and delete 4 characters to level 18...

already have 10 characters, don't want to delete any...

i'm wondering if the leveling achievement is by character, or, account?

I think you can only buy 3 coffers as the level 18 reward is a storage coffer.

Also the reward is only once per account, like the free sorrel horse at level 10. You get one free only if you do not have it already.

thanks @majulook ...on the ps4, so, still got a couple of weeks to wait for storage...

inventory management seems to be a never ending battle - i'm sure I'll have all those chests and coffers filled up in no time...

Well, if I understand your question, if you can have (4) crates that hold 30 items, that's 120 items for 3k (assuming you level a character and get one for free). If you level a character and max out it's bag and riding capacity, that's 200 items. So, if I understand it all correctly (and I probably don't), you can pay 1,500 crowns, level one character, get a 30 item chest for free and another 200 spaces from the character. Right?

With all my characters at max levels, is there some way I still can obtain the level 18 reward coffer? I bought all the other chests with writ vouchers.

You could have just sold the master writs instead of completing them. I have 2.5k vouchers and now sell most of the master writs I get, only keeping high value ones.

There was a rumour about a 15th character slot being made available, to enable people to 'purchase' a new character in order to level up and get the 'missing' rewards. Does anyone know if this came to fruition or has it been debunked?

I have a level 11 waiting foe the patch to come to console and a spare slot (my 14th) which I may use. I don't think there are any plans for any of the rewards to be given to accounts with maxed out accounts.
